  1. You're saying O'Neill was/is a bench bat?
  2. I won't. But I also won't be surprised if they don't.
  3. Me too. Then again, as fans our job is to stay hopeful until hope is completely snuffed. And the Sox of recent years really know how to snuff.
  4. Oh, I'm sure they've been working hard on that extension offer. The only problem will be when Crochet and his agent see the numbers. 😛
  5. Our most reliable RH bats are actually Wong and Refsnyder. 🙃
  6. I've been saying it for a while now, the only real hope for the 2025 offense is the kids.
  7. Shaughnessy actually said this about 3 years ago: "The Red Sox like one-year deals the way I like ice cream".
  8. Don't disagree with any of that, but Breslow did make a point of talking about balancing the lineup, so if they don't sign a RH bat it'll be another case of saying one thing and doing another.
  9. That's fair. But I also look at the fact that O'Neill had a 2.6 bWAR/2.5 fWAR and has been replaced by J-Didd, who consistently delivers a 0.0.
  10. Good stuff Davy. You're kind of preaching to the choir when it comes to TalkSox. I think we're all puzzled, disappointed, disgusted or some combination thereof about this team's approach. We've certainly learned not to rely on any of their assurances. Last year it was Werner's 'full throttle', this year it's Kennedy's 'even if we have to pay tax we're going for 90-95 wins' speech. Who knows, maybe they'll sign Grichuk and Robertson (2 more 1 year deals LOL) and deliver extensions for Crochet and Campbell or Anthony or both. As fans we live in hope.
  11. It's all jibber jabber to pass the time. I just think we don't have very much information on which to base calling Narvaez a steal at this point.
  12. It's hard to see any apples to apples comparisons that could be made. I'm just naturally dubious that the Yankees would be so generous as to give us a steal, but it would be nice.
  13. But the other side of the equation is that the Yankees are unlikely to hand us a great catching prospect for nothing.
  14. We can probably credit Breslow with the shift.
  15. I guess what you're saying is that he was inconsistent. The only thing is you can say that about 95% of MLB hitters.
  16. Seems like they were concerned he'd accept it, and just didn't think he was worth $21 mill.
  17. Mahomes is right up there with the all-time best for his ability to deliver a scoring drive when the game is on the line. Obviously he still has a way to go to catch Brady for playoff success. Brady 7-3 in SBs Mahomes will be 4-1 or 3-2 after this one.
  18. This isn't meant to undermine your point, but when I looked up Seattle's W-L splits last year I couldn't help noticing that they got annihilated by both Detroit and Minnesota, going a combined 3-10, scoring 34 and giving up 71.
  19. Unfortunately the Red Sox could only take 4 of 7 from them.
  20. Meanwhile, Raffy's shoulders are going to be good as new again, because he's been his taking his Advil every day.
  21. But if we re-signed him, we'd be talking about the possibility that he might be healthier and do better in 2025. 🙃
  22. Oh, they definitely had their rea$on$.
  23. To "added Chapman" they forgot to add "but lost Jansen and Martin."
  24. It's pick your poison with these guys.
  25. I'm so cynical now that I'm almost hoping for the Jays to make a couple more signings that vault them past us in the projections, just to embarrass our leaders some more.
