  1. Well, it's round-ish.
  2. But what would we talk about when the window closes?
  3. That added muscle worked out just great for Benintendi. 😛
  4. They are, but the starting lines are generally an accurate reflection of reality. The point spreads in football are designed to make it a coin toss, so you get equal betting on both sides. If there's inordinate betting on one side they move it. Buffalo Bills fans are known to bet on their team a little irrationally so the spread will reflect that.
  5. And I'm going to try to put a pause on my front office beeching until there's a resolution on Arenado and Bregman. 😉
  6. Bregman has some serious reverse splits the last few years. The Red Sox biggest problem last year was actually that our righties couldn't hit righties and our lefties couldn't hit lefties. So he would be a boost in that regard. This "balancing" thing seems to have become yet another rabbit hole LOL
  7. Once again highlighting that our offense could really use another bat.
  8. Patrick was running for his life. We're used to seeing some of that, but not on every play! And imagine being a 22 year old kid and pick-sixing Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
  9. As far as how Henry feels about the fans, I think he expressed that pretty clearly in his interview in which he talked about fans having unrealistic expectations, thinking their team should win the trophy every year when the odds are really 1 in 30. He doesn't have a lot of regard for our intelligence.
  10. I think it's a combination of a) trying to be smart running the team and b) trying to maximize return on investment for FSG shareholders. Some would argue that there's nothing smarter than maximizing return.
  11. Close enough. My recollection from what Kimmi said is: Best overall hitter 2nd Best or next best OBP 1st Best or next best power hitter 4th Next best power hitter 5th Next best overall hitter 3rd Then of course you have to factor in the L/R stuff.
  12. We're in a position of trying to reconcile the facts that: a) They are the #3 team in franchise market value and annual gross revenue, according to Forbes 2024 annual Business of Baseball report (and those rankings have been steady for years), and b) As of now they are out of the top ten in team payroll for the third year in a row.
  13. Agreed, just wouldn't hurt to add a guy like Robertson on a 1 year deal. Hendriks and Whitlock both have the injury ? hanging over them.
  14. I know, but the the 2 things are usually close. You generally don't see the lines move very much unless there's a good reason.
  15. Yeah, the number three hitter is one of the more intriguing metrics things, because you can see that a lot of managers disregard it.
  16. Yeah, there are a lot of hardcore Pollys there and on Sons of Sam as well. The consensus of most projections and Vegas is 84-85.
  17. We're seeing it right now. Not even 3 straight years of .500 and under baseball has motivated them to spend. Obviously the revenues and profits are not being affected in a noticeably damaging way by the mediocre/poor results.
  18. You'd think missing the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years would knock some of the arrogance out.
  19. Right. And I'm not saying they should have brought him back. He cashed in, good for him. All I'm saying is the offense needed some help that, as you say, has not been forthcoming.
  20. We're all just speculating. The thing is we're being run by a conglomerate called Fenway Sports Group now. Henry doesn't even own a majority of the shares anymore. It's probably safe to assume there are shareholders who care more about their return on investment than the Sox W-L record.
  21. Yeah, Breslow is in a no-win situation. He doesn't want to outright lie but he can't really tell the whole truth, either.
