Francona is a below average manager. His in game decisions for the most are questioned by everyone, but they guy wasn't brought in to be a manager. He was brought in to be a baby sitter, he was brought in to keep the players happy. He was hired to keep Manny and Pedro happy and convince Schilling to accept a trade to Boston. He really is a players manager, b/c he sticks with vets waaaay to long and doesn't discipline players when they need it. In my opinion not much coaching is needed in baseball anyway, but Francona does do a great job with the players and handling the scrutiny of the media day in an day out. But ask yourself, how many times have you actually thought, wow, that was a good call or a smart move by Francona?

Typical move by the Jets, they pickup any player that is in trouble with the league by pissing away all their picks.

Playing the Sabres in the first round is the best case scenario for the Bruins IMO. We took the season series from them, and I think with Rask in net we have a chance. The team has been stepping up to end the season, so at least we won't be embarrased. I would have to say though the Sabres win in 6, but it wouldn't surprise me if it went further than that. The B's got a shot in the series, but they have to take advantage of the first two games b/c they play better on the road.

We all thought the offense would be this teams major flow, well it still could suck but the major issue is the pen. I guess Theo forgot that the bullpen is part of the pitching staff. Okijima has been figured out, Delcarmen sucks, Rameriz is nothing like he was in the first half of last year, Bard is still a young pitcher but still, c'mon its the f***ing Royals. Papelbon is a shell of him former self, and then you got scrubs like Schowenweis and Atchins who have arleady make multiple appearances. -
Just like everything broke for them the right way in 08. It won't happen again.

I hope the Bruins re-sign Siedenberg b/c the guy has been great since the trade. We need to get Wideman's lame ass off the top defensive line. I can't wait for an 8th place finish and and sweep by the Caps over our pathetic asses. What a disappointing season....

Lowell will never start, the FO is trying to wash their hands of him at any costs. They don't want him, they would bee too embarrassed to crawl back to Lowell and have him start after they tried all off season to trade the guy.

Well, the Sox don't really have much of a bullpen to speak for a team that is supposed to be making the playoffs.

Francona needs to be fired, why he brings in Bard to pitch against Swisher who is 2/3 with 2 HR's off Bard in the past is ridiculous. And David Ortiz is a f***ing joke, so is the fact that the Sox can't score off of Chan Ho Park in 3 innings of work. -
Thrashers are done, Philly did win, which puts them up a point over the B's for the 7th spot, and we are 2 back of Montreal for 6th. Would be huge if the B's could win tonight, I hope Buffalo takes it easy b/c they have the division wrapped up

Too early to worry about it, but it certainly isn't the start to the year I wanted to see. At least we have Lowell for this very reason. Give Ortiz a couple weeks, but he can't out of the slump he needs to sit. Francona can't stick with him for as long as he did last season.

I didn't like the deal at first b/c I thought Lowell was still a great hitter and a good handed defender with eh range. But after seeing Lowell look old and feeble in the field and at the plate during the Spring, I realized that signing Beltre was the right move. Cleared up now chief?

I don't like Beltre at all. After realizing Lowell literally could go more than a foot to his left or right made me realize we need a new 3B.

From Pedro throwing out the first pitch to Neil Diamond signing (poorly) Sweet Caroline, it was quite an event. Also, it was pretty good game too, so the MLB must be pleased with the day went down.

Beltre was a grown ass man out there ripping the ball around the park last night. I was one of the bigger Lowell defenders this offseason, but seeing Beltre this Spring out in the field really opened my eyes to how big a upgrade he was at the hot corner. Run prevention can work in even 9-7 games lol. Showenweis FTW hahaha, that could be the only time we hear that this year.

I agree the beginning of the game was cheesy, but Pedro as usual, was entertaining as hell. Neil Diamond sucked back when he had a voice, and now that he doesn't your were better off having that scarecrow looking f*** Henry sign Sweet Caroline. OMG look the Sox have some offense hahaha. Chan Ho Park lol.
