  1. Like it or not, MDC is gonna be seeing a lot of appearances down the stretch run of the season. Bard can't pitch that 8th inninng set up role every game, and Papelbon sure as hell can't close out every game for the rest of the season. As shaky as MDC has been, hes the guy you gotta turn to when Bard can't go
  2. Drive up to Maine, they are crazy about the Red Sox up there
  3. this has been a lost season for Cameron, I guess thats what you get when an old ass CF.
  4. Getting beat down by a team that the Rays swept with your so called ace on the mound has to make you wonder if this team really does have it, oh look, the Sox are losing again
  5. Wheeler and the B's are still waiting on the arbiters decision. Unless its a number the B's like, I imagine they will let him become and UFA, don't know what we could get for him if we accept the contract and try to trade him
  6. The team needs RHH off the bench, and Lowell is crushing right now in Triple A. Problem is he will cool right off when he only gets one AB every 5 games
  7. The trade for him was worth the risk in the offseason, but the guy hasn't panned out and there are clearly better options than him on the farm, i.e. Daniel Nava. Nava hits at a better clip than Hermida, gets on base more, and can actually field the position. I don't know how many times this year when I've seen Hermida screw up routine plays in the OF or take horrible angles to fly balls. Bill Hall is more productive.
  8. Any truth to these Trevor Hoffman rumors?
  9. My bust threads have mojo, first Beltre goes off on a tear and now Lackey turns it around and is pitching like the guy we thought he would when we signed him. Too bad it wouldn't work for the pen
  10. TO is a hell of a number three option though.
  11. Pedrioa and V-Mart were the killers. Having a Triple A catching platoon every game for the past month has been awful, and Bill Hall and Patterson can only do so much at 2nd base.
  12. There are too many holes in the bullpen to fill, even if we make a deal, we still have weaknesses. Bard and whomever we get, if we get someone, can't pitch every game. That leaves the middle inninngs wide open to be blown by Delcarmen, Okajima, and Rameriz. We need to add several more arms in order to sure up the pen, and even if you do that, there is still the big risk that Papelbon just blows the game in the end.
  13. Hopefully Beckett's struggles were injury related and him and Lackey both pitch better for the entirety of the second half. The pen sucks no matter what, that is what worries me.
  14. Annibal Sanchez threw a no hitter, one start doesn't impress me, not for 18 mill a year
  15. Who is to say once this team is healthy we will have a shot at the playoffs. When healthy, wasn't this the same team that started 11-19 and was almost dead in April?
  16. I have that jersey, I think I'm one of the few fans who actually like the alternate jersey
  17. Lowrie isn't major league capable.... the guy is never healthy and you can't rely on him
  18. Its about time. Historically a second half pitcher, he still has no excuse for that s*** first half. And lets not get giddy about shutting down the M's, lets see him shut down a decent hitting team
  19. What answer? We have Scutaro for 2 years after this and then Iglesias down the line. Catchers take a while to develope so I'd take Iannetta over Jed
  20. Isn't Ortiz like 3 for something, like 25 since the ASB?
  21. I've seen enough of Bowden in the last couple of years, trade the guy
