  1. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Ference sucks and when he is out there sucking he is hurt anyway. So we are paying a guy 2+ mill a year to do the same job a guy half his salary could do.
  2. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1241968&format=comments#Com Pedrioa sprained his wrist. He's getting X-Rays today.... thats great
  3. I would have just kept both Hughes and Joba in the pen, Hughes, Joba, Mo 7-8-9 is pretty damn good. you can find 5th starters anywhere.
  4. Back to back great games by the Bruins vs. teams riding their ass in the standings. Team is playing each game like its a game 7 and hopefully the are gaining momentum and gearing up for the playoffs. The 6 seed is still in reach.
  5. 16-0 run to end the game last night with a loss.... wtf
  6. Sure Youk has the potential too, but he can't stay on the field to do it.
  7. He's moving back to the AL where he has been nothing more than a mediocre pitcher in the past. He's going to be pitching in baseballs tough division and he'll be making half his starts in Yankee Stadium. That is why his numbers will fall and he won't be the difference maker in the rotation that the Yankees need.
  8. Drew never stays healthy and 30 homers is his career high, Youk has never hit 30, so until he does so, I don't expect him to do so. In fact Chone predicts he will only hit 23 home runs this year. I think he'll hit around 27, but the fact is Youk hasn't hit 30 yet in his career so until he does, I believe he won't. Ortiz is a crap shoot, who will probably end up around 30, but he isn't what he was in 03-07. He isn't the intimidating presence that pitchers don't want to face. Cameron won't hit more than 25, and we will have to see with Beltre.
  9. you do it to everyone else man. Aside from that complete idiot PWNdrioa, people shouldn't be ripped apart by sarcastic, stupid replies that you feel necessary to bring to the table
  10. and your the textbook definition of an opinionated ******* who jumps down peoples throats for not agreeing with your opinionated, not exactly true posts. Your pretty much just a yes man for Epstein and agree with every move he made as if he was f***ing god or something. In fact, I don't think you have opinions but instead just agree with every thing Epstein does as you beat off to JD in the basement of your shanty. Good luck working on your next ban
  11. He's getting $23 million a year, so image how much he would have made if he hit the free agent market, he would have made at least 25+ million a year. This guy is not only the best hitting catcher in the league, but also one of the best hitters in the game so he could be a DH when his catching skills decline and that bat will still be there
  12. Your being optimistic if you think Beltre and Cameron will crack more than 25 this year. Who knows with Ortiz. When the Sox won in 04 and 07 they had big mashers like Rameriz and Ortiz in his prime, guys who could clear the bases and hit easily 30 bombs a year. The Sox don't have that guy. Youk and V-Mart will never crack 30 in the future.
  13. so... Nomar is fraud and doesnt' care about the fans or the Red Sox uniform.
  14. This is solely a PR move since Nomar is getting a job for ESPN in Boston. This is just a move so he will get back into the good graces of the fans.
  15. Add Dice-K to the list of bombed/failed moves of Theo Epstein, for a genius, the guy has made a lot of bad moves.
  16. 1999 Game 5 ALDS.... Pedro comes out of the pen and goes 6 no hit innings to wrap up the series. That was a great game. O'Leary hit the grand slam. I'd say the 1999 team was my favorite Sox team ever for some reason. Some other moments I wasn't alive for that have to be up there is Fisk's game 6 home run of the 75 Series or Williams hitting a HR in his last at bat. Also, trading Heathcliff Slocumb for Lowe and Varitek ranks up there too haha
  17. When could we see Dice-K in some ST games? Last I heard he was pitched two inninngs in a minor league game
  18. The one thing I can say I like about Drew other than his stellar defense in RF is that he has the ability to bat almost anywhere in the lineup, save for 4-5 spot because that is where I want my big mashers to be, guys who can crank home runs (guys this team doesn't have). Anyway, with OF leading OPS he can bat 3rd or 6 down because he'll get you some extra base hits. He could bat 2nd b/c of his great ability to get on base. Hermida is a marginal 4th OF maybe a starter on a bad team. He hasn't really been giving a chance yet, but I'd rather go with the great defense and 25 home runs of Cameron in center than taking a big risk with him left and moving Ellsbury back to CF. Cameron was signed for a reason, to play defense. He is what he is
  19. I don't see Vasquez fairing well in NY this time in NY, just like his first stint went or when he pitches in the AL in general. He'll strike out a lot of guys, but he gives up a lot of HR's and he is playing in the ultimate hitters park. The point was brought up that 4 Yankees starters made 30+ starts last year, well thats not gonna happen again. Burnett will be on the DL like he does every year but last year, Pettitte is older, and maybe not this year, but someday CC will break down. As for Scutaro, he's an average player coming off a career year. For a stop gap solution, I don't mind. He'll provide stability at the SS position, something we haven't had in a while.
  20. C's swept the the Texas trip! Hopefully I'm right with my gut feeling when I think the Celtics will flip on the switch and turn up their play in the playoffs.
  21. Nice to see the Bruins play a physical game and come out with the W over the Rangers. The Thrashers are closing in on us now, and we play them Tuesday. But we are only 3 points out of 5th, so if we can get hot in the last 11 games, we might move up the seeding and play a first round opponent we might actually have a chance against.
  22. Mauer put up crazy numbers last year but lets not forget he too was hurt for much of the first month of the season last year
  23. I just realized Ron Brace was a 2nd round pick. Wow, what a waste.
