I don't think we expect much at this point. Just throw the ball over the plate, don't walk guys, and don't get injured. I doubt we'd use him in leverage situations.

Guess not, oh well, I'm still happy with 8 runs being scored. I have no idea what this means for the rotation, but at least they both sucked so it's not like we can play the "what if" game.

At least our offense may wake up from it's few game funk. Hopefully the resurgence carries over to future games. (The offense, not our pitching haha)

I love it, I'm in a work pool for lowest run total for the season, and a girl that I'm against has the Red Sox this week and I have the White Sox. So as long as Boston outscores the White Sox this week I'm happy.

It's not Bridgeport or Meriden though. I've interviewed for positions at ESPN before, it's a pretty nice place. I'm not sure how nice of a place it is to work, but it's prob the lone good thing about the area. (Isn't Lake Compounce nearby?)

Gomes has a .373 OBP despite only a .208 BA so thus far he's proving he can be able to walk. That said I'd have expected a bit more power from the offense, but I'm happy with a lot of the OBP.

I figured that it's because Gomes is RHH and Hernandez is a LHP, rather than putting in Carp vs. lefties. Granted Nava is a switch hitter and an OBP god, so it might come down to gut instinct from there.

I think Ortiz is lucky now because I think the environment will change in the 5+ years it takes for him to be eligible. His ratio numbers are fine imo, but I think he peaked relatively late so he didn't have the type of counting numbers that one would have for playing a normal "full" career. However, he's done amazing things when he was supposed to be left for dead, so if he continues to play like this, I believe his counting numbers would be worthy as well.
