    Honestly, just on watching the game I'd think we should be losing by a lot more than we are. I think the first game in the series was similar. We should have lost them both by more than 2 runs.

    If it's a slug fest it'll be because Doubront gives up a lot of runs. I'm willing to bet Doubront walks in a run tonight.

    I totally agree, I just brought up Mariano's numbers because I don't think it's common for many relievers to go over 1000 career innings (as a reliever), especially with the numbers he's had.

    Normally I'd say "shut up you stupid biased Yankee fan" to something like that but there's a legit point to be made there. Granted, I think it's really difficult to compare starters to relievers, especially across different eras. (Mariano vs. the many HOF pitchers before him) The sad part is I'm less than a month younger than Kershaw. He's making millions of dollars as one of the greatest starting pitchers in the game, and I'm sitting my fat ass on my bed on a random message board talking about how great he is.

    On another note, I guess it shows how impressive it is that Mariano Rivera has about 200 more IP than Kershaw and an ERA of 2.20 (Kershaw's is 2.70) when one pitches in the AL East and the other pitches in the NL West.

    I'd use "3 card molly whooped" because it sounds weird enough to work.

    Especially when your spot in the rotation is typically right after a Doubront/Webster start. The rotation spots got moved around a bit but that's probably where you'd normally want to have it, Lester as the #1 and Doubront/Webster/trade acquisition at the #5.

    I feel like there are innings where they seem to stop trying. Whereas the Rays seem like a team that's trying to win 100% of the time, even if they were playing little leaguers in a Make a Wish foundation game. The Rays would send those kids on their deathbeds out with a loss.

    I'd love to see what his final numbers look like when he retires, the last few years have been unexpected (at least by me) and amazing. Even better than his career averages.

    I think I'd do well as Kennedy, especially with the backwards "ask not what this baseball team can do for you..." talk. Then again I don't mind getting head in the backseat of my car either.
