  1. Detroit is just molly-whooping the Astros now up 17-1. Jeremy Guthrie also threw his first career shutout. (KC over CHW) Miami one-hit Philadelphia behind Jose Fernandez (although he only through 7 innings, but had 82 pitches)
  2. I did not mean it like that. I meant that it is a delicate debate because I can see/understand both sides of the coin. In addition, I feel like a majority of the issues in society come down to the same underlying issue. (Individual City/State rights vs. the power of the federal government)
  3. To be honest VA I think there's a very very fine line to that debate. I kind of agree with the thought process but I don't agree with the execution. I think that's something that could be debated for days (where to draw the line on giving people the freedom to harm themselves)
  4. It looks like the Beltre Buster is 24oz ($26) and the Strasburger is 8lb ($59).
  5. You should see the Strasburger.
  6. I only found the hot dog "broomstick" online, no luck on the texas burger yet. I love watching Man vs. Food so I enjoy this kind of thing.
  7. I'm going to search online to see what it looks like. That sounds impressive.
  8. Yay! We're not getting shut out this time!!!
  9. I feel like Lackey will either be really good or really bad tonight. I can't see a middle ground.
  10. He lost it to lead off the 7th, but that's still impressive for a corpse too dead to even be on the Yankees.
  11. As days go by this year I feel better and better about the trade. I can't say the same about all of the trades, but I don't think we lost too badly here.
  12. No. In this case I see both sides, being your comment and sheffieldcelt's comment. Me being too lazy would be me not caring about the argument at all and saying "you're both right" to get you both to shut up. In that case I wouldn't have posted as many times as I have.
  13. Haha no. I just don't understand why the conversation is still going on when the 3 of us agree. I'm not arguing with you. I agree with you. But your posts are reading like you're trying to argue with me.
  14. Having said all that I think we all deserve the right to laugh at athletes that buy 6-7 figure cars and are then bankrupt a few years after retiring.
  15. It depends. In your example (comparing it to baseball) one would likely require me to move. And if I have a family, I'm likely not going to move just to get an extra 20K. Plus there are other factors like lockerroom, quality of the team, fanbase etc. I understand what you're saying. And that's why I'm not going to blame players for taking the extra money. (Let the record know I'm not blaming them) However, I think it's ok to say that 100M or so should be more than enough to live your life and that one shouldn't ever bitch about money when they are getting 100M+ I feel that your perception of the point I'm trying to make, and the point in my head I'm trying to make are different. Again I find myself in the middle on this.
  16. Our division almost got completely shutout yesterday. Tampa was the only one to score any runs.
  17. I agree with both sides. I mean I totally understand why a player would want an extra $20 million, but I think it's a valid point to say "really? $120M vs. $100M is really going to make your life that much better?" I personally think if you can't live off of the major league minimum then you have serious problems.
  18. In 12 1/3 innings against Boston (1 start) Ogando is 1-2 with a 5.11 ERA. (Although only a .97 WHIP and .178 BAA) That said, in 195 2/3 innings against Texas (36 starts) Lackey is 12-14 with a 6.16 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and .295 BAA
  19. If we avoid the sweep I'm happy. Texas can have the other game, let's just get one and get the hell out of there.
  20. The Rays won in extras, but the Blue Jays, Orioles, Red Sox, and Yankees all got shutout.
  21. I'd still rather lose 1 game by 10 then 10 games by 1. We've beaten Oakland and Tampa Bay in series thus far this year so we're doing plenty right. We can obviously improve but that's not to take away from what we have.
  22. Oh well, these kind of games are going to happen over the course of a season.
  23. At least the Yankees and Blue Jays also got shutout.
  24. It doesn't look like Doubront has any options left so I imagine he'd get claimed if we had to get rid of him. As much as I want to get rid of him (and Aceves) an injury can destroy us if we have Lester/Buchholz/Dempster/Lackey/Webster as our rotation.
  25. I'd say he 7-layer burritoed into a windowless room.
