  1. Woah now, my spidey sense only applies to semi attractive females, not being up to date on Sox news. Sox news sounds dangerously close to "Fox news" anyway.
  2. Desperate times call for desperate measures. We lost a lot of games we should have won (vs. Min/Tor) and now we're facing a slightly better team with much worse fans. We need to buckle down and score Moore runs or else Moore wins is what we'll Lack...ey. OK bad puns aside, here we go. http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt38/italstallianion/th1_zps97fc1f0e.jpg Normally we'd never be excited with a Lackey start, as he used to be the goat of the team since Dice-K left and Lugo was long gone, but now he's pitching respectfully after coming back from his injury. He's currently 1-3 with 2.82 ERA 24/7 K/BB and 1.30 WHIP. John Lackey is 12-6 with a 4.09 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and .268 BAA against the Rays in 123.1 career innings. Furthermore he also comes home at night and sleeps with this. http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt38/italstallianion/thCA97HF73_zps59592c32.jpg So he's gotta be doing something right. http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt38/italstallianion/thCAK4C9M9_zps32116316.jpg We'll be up against another one of those young Rays pitchers that seems to be doing well. Matt Moore is a lefty that's 6-0 with a 2.14 ERA, 43/23 K/BB and 1.17 WHIP. Moore is 0-2 with a 5.87 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and .250 BAA in 15.1 innings against Boston. Let the Perv Magic go to work!!
  3. I can imagine you on your rocking chair by the fireplace telling us that story Pops. haha
  4. I hope to God you're only half right.
  5. He's already on his 2nd wind as he was drafted as a pitcher and came back as an OF.
  6. I have no idea what I voted either, if I voted now I doubt I'd pick the same one.
  7. Josh Beckett get pulled early after another bad outing, this time vs. Washington. He went 3 innings (68 pitches) 3 hits, 4 runs, 2 of which earned, and 2 walks. The Dodgers are down 4-0 to Washington and that brings Beckett's season ERA to 5.19. If Washington holds on, Beckett would be 0-5 with his 100th career loss. Granted Crawford, Gonazalez, and Punto are all doing well for the Dodgers, but it at least pleases me that Beckett isn't.
  8. It'd be like that if I was still in college over there, there were more passionate Bruins fans than passionate Red Sox fans, and we won a World Series my sophmore year.
  9. Yeah I'm not much of a hockey fan, especially with my team not making the playoffs, but a game 7 like that is legendary. Now with the Bruins and Rangers facing one another that could be epic.
  10. I guess Toronto and Boston beat each other at their own game. They can have baseball now because we just took hockey.
  11. It's just been an incredibly awful past couple of days for my sports teams. I'm like 0 for everything recently. I can't even win at Grand Theft Auto without putting a bat through my TV.
  12. It probably wasn't worth it for a platoon 3.5th OF. In addition to his bad home/away splits, he also had bad LHP/RHP splits. Victorino got $13M, so I don't see Ross being worth the same.
  13. Thus far I think it's a bit misleading. Cody Ross is .281/.333/.382/.715 and Jonny Gomes is .194/.346/.339/.685 They are about a month apart in age, and Ross is on a 3/$26M deal with a $9.5M option with a $1M buyout. Gomes is here for 2/$10M. Unless Ross is a much better fielder than Gomes (which could be) I don't think it's worth the extra year at the higher price. That said, there's a much bigger difference in how they are hitting lefties, which would be our ideal usage or Gomes/Ross. Cody Ross is .400/.471/.600/1.071 in 30 AB's vs. lefties. Jonny Gomes is .188/.366/.438/.803 in 32 AB's vs. lefties.
  14. My dogs respond to whoever has food. They'd sell out our location to a complete stranger for some steak.
  15. Well, when he's the runt and newbie, and the other 6 are beagles, then he might assume he's one too. He definitely barks the most. He once growled at his reflection in the mirror.
  16. From what I've read, and I'm admittedly biased, it seems like Jacko's real quick to talk about the Red Sox luck running out while failing to acknowledge how ridiculously lucky his own team has been considering it should have been buried in the division and left for dead after all of the injuries. Then you factor in the timing of his posts after Red Sox losses and I can see why so many people here don't like him. He's like a more subtle troll, like GOM without the personal attacks and youporn addiction.
  17. Mine are from all over the place, Kentucky, Ohio, Arkansas, Brooklyn etc Some are blind from animal testing, some were beaten (kicked, stomped), some were shot, debarked, and burned, one was locked in a garage to starve. There are some sick people out there. The majority of mine are beagles, except for a golden retriever/cocker spaniel mix that thinks he's a beagle.
  18. I understand, my point about them being rescue is that these dogs were so mentally/physically abused by their previous owners that "good training" regarding barking is likely impossible. They are lucky enough just to be alive.
  19. Most of mine are rescues and beyond "good training" plus it's in their breed as hunting dogs to bark. And it seems to keep people away, although the town did us no favors by turning the land across the street into a walking park.
  20. But an extra treat per sox loss = fat dog. I have enough fat dogs as it is. Too bad being fat doesn't stop them from barking.
  21. You don't want the dog to get fat now....
  22. I totally agree with this. However it would help if "those people" just put Fred on ignore too just in case. It is a 2 way road. But yeah, those posts are doing nothing but asking for trouble.
  23. The only other scenario I can see that making sense is if he was removed for a pinch hitter in a key at bat. He was pinch hit for, but it was to lead off the inning, which might make sense in a 1 run game, but I wouldn't have pinch hit for Gonzalez in that scenario unless there were runners in scoring position, since it was 1-0 but Gonzalez was pitching a gem.
  24. Can we make a petition to temp-ban Jacko after every Sox loss?
  25. I just want Boston to score a shitload of runs. That should solve a lot of problems.
