    At this point I'd rather have Doubront try to pitch right handed to save bullpen arms. At least we're on the road so we only have to pitch 8 innings.

    Looks like it's going to be a bullpen kind of game for us. I hope we at least win 1 game just because 1-2 is much better than 0-3.

    He is 4-1 with an ERA of 3.00 in 33 innings against Boston. What's funny is that current Sox players have a higher OPS vs. Holland than current Yankees players. Current Sox players are .276/.373/.517/.890 vs. Holland Current Yankees players are .294/.363/.503/.866 vs. Holland

    And he's not a good enough pitcher to get away with the drop in velocity imo. Heck I thought he was just "decent" when he had the extra zip.

    It might be accurate, but when you play 162 games, it might be easier to bring in more money than if you only play 16 games.

    Both of you? Haha nah, but you're both my jackasses and I like you both. Hell I honestly think the majority of us (myself included) can be reasonably called "jackasses" from time to time. It's probably a love/hate relationship at this point.

    I thought of that, however the quotes from SCM I quoted (that Fred can now see because I quoted) weren't mean jabs at him. And if a shitstorm did ensue (which it shouldn't based on the nature of the posts quoted) I certainly wouldn't sit back and wonder why it started.

    That's not how it works. If he has you on ignore, then he can't see your posts. If you don't want to see his posts, you'd have to put him on ignore. I know he has you on ignore because I helped him with the configuration to put you and a few others on ignore to stop the angry postings.

    For what it's worth I believe he (finally) has you on ignore so you don't need to wait for a response. Not that you would, but I don't want you to waste any time.

    I don't feel like the conspiracy theories (in this case) are coming from a place of hate. I think people just don't like to "not know" the answer/reason and therefore are doing "mental gymnastics" to figure out what could possibly cause Hanrahan to pitch instead of Bailey. I don't think it has to do with anyone being wrong or finding anything to bitch about. The majority of posters I've seen have admitted they were wrong about something. I've admittedly been wrong in many predictions about how the team and various players would do. I can't see any real Red Sox fan wanting the team to do badly just to prove that they were right.

    Can't argue with results. Now we have a big test ahead of us with Texas.

    To Taz and Uehara's credit, they've been pretty efficient in not using too many pitches in their outings. But yeah, we definitely need other guys to step up so we don't have to rely on them every close game. Having Morales and Breslow back should be a good start, and hopefully Hanrahan and find what it was that made us give him that contract. Wilson has also been a nice surprise thus far in the season. Miller....well there's only one of him.

    I'd put in one of the Japanese dudes to face Lawrie. Lawrie's already homered off of Miller in 3 at bats and if he grooves one Toronto can take the lead. Our good relievers all got the day off yesterday so we can do the 7th/8th/9th to make sure we hold onto this one.

    Why would Miller be put in a close game? I mean I don't see you guys posting about the Sox scoring another 10 runs so something is obviously wrong here.

    At this point I'd prefer a boring game. If it stays boring the rest of the way then it's a good thing.

    I think this game is a lot closer than it should be.
