  1. Where's the love for college football? I've been waiting for this day all summer (yes, I know South Carolina played on Thursday, but look at all the football)! A few nationally televised games later today: (1)USC v. Hawaii, 7:05 PM ET on ESPN2 (4)Michigan v. Northern Illinois, 3:30 ET on ABC (16)Auburn v. Georgia Tech, 8:45 PM ET on ESPN (18)Boise St. v. (13)Georgia, 5:30 PM ET on ESPN (17)TEXAS A&M v. Clemson, 8:00 PM ET on ABC (22)Boston College v. BYU, 3:30 PM ET on ABC Another game I'm interested in: MAINE v. nebraska, 7:00 PM ET (Go Black Bears, put 40 on 'em!) Just a short listing of some good games, and in bold is the game I'll be living and dieing for. Unfortunately, our first high school game is tonight so I'll have to tape it. If anyone wants to posts a listing of some of the New England colleges getting underway, that'd be great as well. Good luck to BU, UMass, Northeastern and Brown as well today.
  2. redsoxrules, from the standpoint of the way Yao has been playing, they are overpaying him. But I really like this guys future in the NBA. I'm really liking the Rockets' chances these next couple years to win it all.
  3. That picture is from 2000, I believe. The big Sox/Rays fight in Tampa. You see, I started feeling bad for the Devil Rays, then I thought back on all the bad blood and I decided not to feel bad at all.
  4. Most of your predictions I can see where you're coming from. I really think it'll be tough to sweep Oakland at their place, though. I'd like to think we'll take two of three, but the A's are playing fantastic baseball since the All-Star break.
  5. Good for Wells. Wells' comments also remind me how honestly I feel bad for Embree and Bellhorn having to play on that dumpy New York team. Poor guys. :thumbdown
  6. Eh, thought this was YANKEESRULE coming out from his hiding. Welcome to the site, Jason.
  7. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Silly Devil Rays, thinking they could keep up with Boston. 7th inning: DADDY 10 v. last place rays 2 http://www.peninsulaclarion.com/images/083000/RED_SOX_DEVIL_RAYS.jpg
  8. Mark my words: Things will work out, and we'll be okay.
  9. He seems to call in every year. He gets trashed a lot by us, but I'll continue to give him credit for donating. It days like yesterday and today that make me proud to be a Sox fan. 52 years now.... that's incredible. Also seeing that younger kid in the wheelchair sing "take me out to the ball game" last night, I almost broke down and cried right then. Thanks to groups like the Jimmy Fund, one day cancer will have a cure and life will be a lot easier for millions of Americans. [edit: the last three years he's called in -- I missed that. Thanks George.]
  10. News flash, this just in: Randy Johnson is old and isn't what he used to be.
  11. It's tough to imagine that after tonight, the next time we will be on the road is on September 9th in New York. C'mon Sox... head back home with a win.
  12. I don't know if it makes us look silly. It all comes down to the fact that the Yankees dominated the Red Sox for nearly one-hundred years as far as success of the two franchises. And when your most hated rival does that to you over and over, it gets old and you start taking out your hate in chants or whatever else. I would definitely rather root for the Sox instead of root against New York anyday, but I definitely hate the Yankees with passion.
  13. Welcome. There are clearly a lot more transplanted New Englanders in Florida than I thought.
  14. Alright, so my audio is behind... 6-2, my bad.
  15. Yep, I'm guilty of having a BELIEVE IN BOSTON sticker and a YANKEES SUCK sticker on my car. Besides, when I was reading a handbook of things to do in Boston, when Fenway was described it said "chanting 'Yankees suck' at Fenway will make you a true Bostonian" or something of that sort.
  16. Hope you're right, stocker. All I have right now is WEEI to listen to since MLB Extra Innings went to their rain delay screen. I hope they don't make up the game tomorrow afternoon sometime.... I'd really like to see the ending.
  17. Welcome. Is the caps button on your computer permanently turned on?
  18. So how was it driving four hours with the kids screaming in the backseat to Fenway to see an eight hour rain delay? (referring to Maine Day at Fenway against the White Sox)
  19. What a game. Great job Papelbon.
  20. Really, you have to start him with a fresh inning, you can't bring him in with men on base. His BAA is up this year a pretty good amount for years past, so you know he'll give up a hit or two, but he's going to get out of the jam if he's in one.
  21. I was kidding Boston4SportsFan, with the comment on Damon's hair. I don't think he or Roger Clemens are or have been on steroids, I'm just telling everone a rumor that I have heard.
  22. Such a horrible thing. You hate seeing something like this happen. Prayers go out to his family and friends during this tough time.
  23. I call B.S. Foulke has said he's stronger than he was last year, and he should be effective in the closers role. He'll have his job when he comes back. Timlin is fantastic in the set-up role, I don't think we'd make him the permanent closer.
