  1. Don't let it get to you, riverside. When you watch a game at Wrigley, it's a fantastic ballpark, but the energy isn't there game at game like it is at Fenway. There's the facts.
  2. The facts are, the Sox take more from today's game then they lose. We still know we can beat Rivera, Wake proved once again he's a big gamer, and Millar continues to get back on track. Besides, now that the Yankees took the series, maybe YANKEESRULE will finally come back and respond to this topic.
  3. Yes, three games is the difference between AL East winners and second-place, fighting to make the playoffs chumps. And spelling smack is weak, but if I could read that last argument you were trying to make, I'd respond.
  4. I made my point above what I said about the Jets. I just said that about the Jets to make sure you knew what a moron you look like trying to compare Boston and New York. What are you going to tell me next... the Jets stand a chance against the Pats this year?
  5. Again: Our pitching is fine. If you want you can look at the last ten games or so and what our pitchers have done, I have the link in my sig and type that up after every game. And since when is your offense great? Since August 1st we've scored 237 runs and you've scored 192. That's a difference of FOURTY-FIVE RUNS. Cram those stats into your small head. Don't even compare your offense to ours just because juiced Jason Giambi hits some homers.
  6. Now you're pulling out moral victories because you're ONLY FOUR GAMES BACK? But hey, don't take my word that your pitching staff is horrible, then. I'll just give you a link to the .413 winning PCTG Tampa Bay Devil Rays fan website and I'll let them comment on your pitching. I'm sure you're also worshiping Chad Pennington now that the Jets are already down 17-0 to Kansas City and K.C. is driving again right before half, aren't you?
  7. #$%^ texas :thumbdown
  8. So what? The way our bats work our pitching doesn't have to be "St. Louis Cardinals" perfect. I wish I could find all the offensive categories we are first in, because they showed the graphic on FOX, today. 800 f^cking runs scored this season? Are you joking, that's phenominal. Are you joking me? ttt this thread when the season is over and the Sox will be on top. What, do you want to put $$$ on it? If it's even a semi-close race going into the final seven games (all which are on the road for the Yankees), Baltimore and Boston will rock your pitching staff to no extent. Jaret Wright, Randy Johnson, Shawn Chacon, Aaron Small, a hurt Wang... what an embarrassment. You run Wang, Small and Chicon out there in the playoffs or a tight playoff race and see what happens. I'm watching the same Yankee team you are, don't kid yourself and think that you have a chance at catching the Red Sox.
  9. I think your team is done. After a 9-2 win in the Bronx today, with Curt Schilling pitching phenominal. You know, the same Curt that you continue to criticize: You're now four games back, and you'll be lucky to make the playoffs. Don't worry too much, though. I'm sure the Giants and Jets will work out their QB situations and have FANTASTIC seasons. BWAHAHAHAHA!
  10. How nice would it be to go five games up after tomorrow? Also, like said above: Go Guardians.
  11. Yeah, but A-Rod's wasn't at Fenway. And the first thing that comes to mind talking about homeruns is Manny's HR in Toronto. I don't know what year it was, and I was only watching a highlight, but that was amazing.
  12. Thu, Sep 8 Oakland at New England -- PATRIOTS! Sun, Sep 11 Tampa Bay at Minnesota -- Minnesota Denver at Miami -- Denver Tennessee at Pittsburgh -- Pittsburgh Chicago at Washington -- Washington New Orleans at Carolina -- Carolina Seattle at Jacksonville -- Seattle Houston at Buffalo -- Houston Cincinnati at Cleveland -- Cincinnati NY Jets at Kansas City -- New York Green Bay at Detroit -- Green Bay Dallas at San Diego -- San Diego (I hate Dallas) St. Louis at San Francisco -- St. Louis Arizona at NY Giants -- New York Indianapolis at Baltimore -- Indianapolis Mon, Sep 12 Philadelphia at Atlanta -- Atlanta
  13. From the northwest, to the far south: Welcome.
  14. I think they stopped measuring the extremely long homeruns at Fenway because they don't want 502 beatin, right? I don't know what Manny homerun you're talking about, but that one he hit earlier this year that neary landed on the Pike (did land on it after a couple bounces) has to be up there. That's the furtherst I've ever seen a ball crushed at Fenway (Remdawg's as well, if you need a better word).

  16. I didn't catch the score, but I'll assume then that the Devil Rays won tonight. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Guess that's why my sig says "rest in peace Yankee dynasty", though.
  17. As well as: Go Celtics! Go Bruins!
  18. I thought he looked real good. It's not like the 1 2/3 innings consisted of easy guys to get out, either. He started off by striking out Everett on a changeup that made Carl look foolish, and got out of the first and second jam by getting Posednik to ground out. He started off the next inning by hitting Rowand, but got the next three outs after that pretty easily (one was a sac-bunt and the other two were pop outs on the infield). I thought he pitched well out there and watching him pitch reminded me more of what he did in 2004 than what he did before he went on the DL this year. I definitely believe him when he said he's stronger now than he was even in '04. I really think he will be big in closing games this year.
  19. Stats such as: Matt Clement: 13-3, 4.17 ERA, OBA .322 (one less win than Brown, Pavano and Wang combined) Carl Pavano: 4-6, 4.77 ERA, OBA .354 (a slightly worse OBA than Halama had in Boston before DFA'd)
  20. How was the Syracuse game, yankeessuck? I only got a chance to watch some of it on ABC, but it looked like a great game to be at.
  21. Why don't we just go ahead and change the General Baseball Talk page to, "Yankee talk". Do we need a thread for every game they have? Can we just post a thread after the games they lose to talk about the way they played and do nothing after the games they win?
  22. At this point, we'll take whatever we can get. We can't let that lead over New York get any slimmer than it is.
  23. Yeah, they drafted PG Luther Head from Illinois with the 24th pick. He was a first team Big Ten performer, but I'm pretty sure his junior year he was suspended a couple times so I don't know if he'll be a discipline problem or not. He can definitely play, though.
  24. I wish I could say 'welcome' in Japanese, but... I can't. So, just: Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay.
  25. Geez, what a horrible end to the A&M game (from my standpoint). A fourty-two yard field goal to win it 25-24. :thumbdown
