  1. schillingouttheks, Yeah I also did end up sending the White Sox announcers a little something. If I was to send these guys an email, I'd be more elaborate, though. But back to the game: Kapler was safe at first! C'mon!
  2. RSR, it's just because I'm in Texas so the game is blacked out on MLB Extra Innings. It's alright though, when Chicago comes to town I'll get NESN, then. Nothing I can do about it now, though. Let's go Sox!
  3. I have the volume turned down now, Sox Fan on Cape.... it just annoys me how biased some announcers can be. You know, even as much as I hate the Yankees, if I was a broadcaster and I was calling a Sox/Yanks game I'd be fair because I know I am broadcasting to others and I'm sure they may not want my opinion on why I don't like the Yankees. Alright, I'm done ranting. Nice hit, Tony G.
  4. You guys have no idea how good you have it on NESN. I don't know what the Rangers' television announcers problems with the Red Sox are but they are always picking fun at the Red Sox and everything the do. Whether it's calling Varitek a cry baby (seriously) for a good three - four minutes or complaining about the grass behind home plate being too tall, it goes on and on. Food in New England is good but you can't get BBQ, Millar could have made that catch just coming in without the extra "style dive", the Rangers aren't afraid of David Ortiz because he's hitting .215 since the All-Star break (the next pitch was that 2-R HR from Papi, btw), kids in New England playing t-ball are going to end up telling their coach that they don't want in the game after the coach gave them the day off and would say "but Manny wouldn't play". I'm serious. These guys must have some "beef" with the Red Sox b/c they keep putting down the Sox and their fans, and make comments about how the captain shouldn't "cry" (it was a few words as he walked away) when he gets a call against him. It's insane.... I swear to god when I switch the game over to YES for the Yankees game, it makes those announcers look FANTASTIC. No joke.
  5. I'll post my thoughts later, but I'm glad the Texans are earning some respect and you think they will make the playoffs. And as far as the southern oklahoma cowgirls .... screw 'em. I hope they don't make the playoffs.
  6. And here come the MIGHTY third place fort worthless Rangers! Yee-haw!
  7. Props to the Twins announcers. I taped the first game of the series and I checked the score after I watched the first inning so I decided not to watch the rest of the game, then I got NESN for game two, and having watched all of the third game of the series I just have to say: Thank you Minnesota announcers for making the experience of watching the game on FSN North enjoyable. I've seen many announcers since I've been subscribing to MLB Extra Innings and the FSN North crew are some of the best.
  8. An .091 BA for Blowhorn in Pawtucket? Why not now send him down to Portland?
  9. joe, where you posting on here in 2004? Where were you bashing Francona when we won that World Series? Shut the hell up.... it's not Tito's fault that Timlin made a pitiful throw towards first base scoring that run in the 9th. You should be banned. You've done nothing since you've gotten here but rip the management when we were losing. I'd also like to see you answer riverside's question of where were you during our eight game winning streak?
  10. Crespo is right on that one. Soxfan#1, it kicked off early this morning and is was re-aired on ESPN later today. I mean.... uhh.... it kicks off later today, but I bet the Falcons win by a TD.
  11. Maybe I shouldn't say Jeter isn't a good leader, because that's not fair to him. I don't know what he does or doesn't do in the clubhouse, but I can go with what he does do on the field. The fact is, he isn't one of the great hitters in the game and everyone makes him out to be one of them.... and to me, that is pitiful.
  12. Pathetic. Horrible. Any other names you would like to call the game. I don't even know what they can say on W.B. Mason's Extra Inning.
  13. And for my first post on this thread I just have to say: Thank you Gary. You have now let the world know just what Red Sox fans already know (or atleast me as a Red Sox fan).... Jeter is not a great captain and A-Rod is overrated. Thanks Sheff.
  14. Guess they can't lose 'em all. *shrugs*
  15. My mistake, Papi. I had my facts mixed up, and now I know that Mazzilli was the manager not the GM. I guess the argument here is that the O's are tired of not competing. They have a fantastic team and over the last seven years the best they've done is a 3rd place AL East finish. A move clearly has to be made.
  16. Azle, Texas. I had to look up where that is, and I know my Texas cities pretty well. Expert my ass, Azle is nothing more than a small crappy city north of the fort dallass/fort worthless metrosexualplex.
  17. How cheap. If the Guardians got the right calls this wouldn't be happening. Yankees suck.
  18. You have a great team, and you do ABSOLUTELY nothing to add to the ballclub's strengths before the trading deadline. Mazzilli deserved to go.
  19. The next step for Oakland is clearly to "Moneyball" to work in the postseason. If they can even get past the ALDS, that will be a great stride for the A's.
  20. Welcome to the site. Seeing your location (Austin, Texas) I'm wondering how many people we have posting here from Texas now.... three, I believe.
  21. Yep, as many of you I'm sure can't remember, I'll try to do my best to speed up your memory. It was the first four series in July that really cost us. Losing 2-of-3 at home to Toronto started the month then after beating the Rangers 2-of-3 in Texas, the Sox lost three out of four in Baltimore and against New York. Then I guess I might add that there was no series edge in Chicago (splitted two games) which didn't help any.
  22. Wow, you truely were extremely close to the action.
  23. I heard Theo on WEEI this morning and from what he said, it doesn't sound like the Sox are going to go after bullpen help right now with the way things our going in our bullpen.
  24. Welcome Scott.
  25. Welcome to the site. Washington, wow... a long way.
