Because MLB is more about quantity of money over quality of product, a team 8 games above .500 gets the opportunity to play against a team 34 games above .500 during the reg season. Pathetic.

Because I like baseball a lot more than I do the state of Florida, I'm hoping the Rays beat the Guardians.

Every sport has better and worst divisions, and weak teams in the playoffs.

and how many world series (or even AL east titles) has that got us so far?

Mead's one-game career has gotten us nowhere.  One game out of an entire career might seem like a small sample size to some, but the fact is, Mead has not won a single WSC in his one-game career.

So is everyone else.  The fun part is waiting to see who gets upset at Breslow (labeling him an egomaniac, ironically) for not following their plan…

I'm from NY, so I get to listen to FAN.  All the fans are going off on the team and the fit, much like RS fans are.

But, he still has more championships than anyone else, right?

I'm eternally grateful for JH coming along. I'm not sure we win one ring without him and the people he hired.

One significant playoff run in 8 years sucks bigtime, and it does leave room for criticism. If you look at JH's spending patterns, he often made significant cuts, even during the Theo and DD eras. The one from 2019 to the Devers extension was his longest and maybe most extreme, but the trend has been changing.

Just because Buehler & Sandoval sucked and other high priced player have been injured doesn't mean JH hasn't been spending. Of course, the Devers trade undid a lot of that spending, but overall the spending has ticked upwards under Brez.

I thought that trade was a legit effort.

Had Mead repeated his first half with us, our offense would have been significantly better.

Sure, not all peaches and cream.  But that's the way it goes.  We paid a solid price to attain our 2018 WSC.  In 2019, we were #1 in payroll, #30 in prospects, and an 84-win team.  That took time to straighten out.

I was being sarcastic when someone questions out lack of championships with a guy that played one game.

I figured that much, but felt it needed to be said. I applaud the effort Brez made, especially in light of Bloom's lack of a spine at every deadline except 2021.

I agree he found that fork in the road, and picked a lane instead of looking for that third option.

It sucks that Mead got hurt day one. AR starting out slowly was not really a big surprise, but even ay .700, he was a big improvement over Narvaez.

It hurt giving up Early, Eyanson and Witherspoon, and IMO, Azocar could be the one we regret trading the most, but Brez identified the needs, looked at where we had the most depth, and made a strong effort to get us over the hump.

The best part about those two deals (and the Miller one, too) was than none were for rentals. Mead and Miller have 3 years left and AR one. Maybe AR gets extended. Those three additions should help our 2027 outlook, but I'm not seeing much optimism in those three or our team's chances. It's understandable after that putris September and post season performances.

It will be an interesting decision on AR, and an extension. Baltimore didn’t think he warranted it, and he was supposed to be one of their foundation pieces with Gunner.

Gunner hasn't been extended either.

Things were looking promising for Baltimore 2022-2024, but things haven’t been so good the last two years.
