Sandoval pitched a solid game. The problem is an inconsistent offense.

I hate the results of the last 2 games but they were still fascinating.  Sandoval gave up 4 runs (40 pitches) in the 1st, then 1 run and 53 pitches to go more innings.  Last night Bello was terrific with 1 run in 8 IP and 11 Ks.  

But in both games the hitting has stunk, especially with RISP.  This is a season long issue--good pitching and bad hitting.   The Sox are ranked 20th in MLB in runs scored and 3d in ERA.

On the surface that looks like we average about 11th or 12th, but...

The Rays just passed us today for 2nd in the AL in run differnetial:

+141 NYY

+83 TBR

+80 BOS

+75 DET

+35 CWS

+1 CLE

4 NL teams have better run diffs than BOS, so we are 3rd in the AL and 7th in MLB.

The numbers are far better post June 24th,

Sandoval should be DFAd immediately. Basically he never gave the Flops a chance to win. It’s a recurring problem with him. 
The Yankmees are #1 in ERA last I checked. We will be lucky to score 2 runs a game, and that’s not going to be close to enough to emerge from the WC round. 
Another one and done.
