I think Paez is the 55th player to play for the Sox this year.

25 Batters

30 Pitchers (not counting Monasterio as a picther)

We currently have 7 players on the 60 and 5 on smaller ones.

If I heard what I’m pretty sure I heard, Tracy had never seen this 22 yearl old pitch.  I haven’t been following AAA AA closely lately but I have to assume that they have no pitches left down there.  I feel sorry for whoever this kid is.

He had a lot of time in AA and barely any time in AAA. His stuff is command heavy with hard contact. The chance that he becomes a dominant starter is very slim. At best, he's a back of the rotation guy, but he was definitely not ready. The most likely outcome is that he's never a viable big league starter TBH. He can dominate lesser MiLB guys, but he won't fool MLB guys as his stuff isn't good enough.

that game was as close to a forfeit as they come, without actually forfeiting.

too bad Crochet is such a loser he can't keep himself healthy enough to pitch, so they wouldn't have to trot out a batting practice pitcher to embarrass himself.

Dominant with Baltimore?  They’re nowhere near Baltimore; they’re in AA.

Paez was good in the minors, too…

Are you sure that Chesapeake bay is nowhere near baltimore?

No they wouldn’t have.

Neither is on the 40 man roster.

Witherspoon has a 4.78 ERA in Baltimore’s AA affiliate and is walking over 4 hitters per 9.   He was doing the same thing in Portland, which is not dominating.

Eyanson has been better but he wasn’t going to get called up for a single rotation-saving start and then left on the 40 man roster in the wake of a pending lockout.  Baltimore hasn’t added him yet, either.

Parz is Rule 5 eligible and basically fighting for a future roster spot.  The Sox gave him his first chance.  Since he lacks Eyanson’s overall profile and ceiling, I don’t think the Sox care if he loses development time in a lockout…

Or if they need to DFA him to give his 40 man spot to someone else.

I heard its going to be Monasterio

Good man, Monasterio.  Only 2 things he's lousy at are pitching and, lately, hitting.
