He won't be the first ballplayer to have an exceptional season and never come close again. In music it's called a one hit wonder.

He was really good in his injury-shortened 2023 season, the great '24 season and was pretty good last year.

He's still young enough to have another good season or two, but he looks totally lost this year (so far, I hope it is.)

It's more than just 1 year.

I like Duran. He hustles on every play. Like you, I hope he turns his season around, but I just don't see it. On the plus side, he's been playing a very good LF.

 Maybe he needs to sit out a few games. Reset his thought process at the plate.

He's made some hard outs recently, so maybe he's about to reboot.

He's more like a 3-hit wonder, since he was good in 2023, 2024, and 2025.  In approximately the same number of PAs, Duran and Tatis have almost an identical fWAR over those three years.

He sure had a nice game today. I'd be the happiest guy on this site, if he has a great end to the season. 

He has always had all the tools.
