Sox have some great trade chips (Gray, Whitlock, Contreras, Chapman). I just wish Theo was in charge of making trades rather than Breslow.

In fairness to Breslow, besides Alonso, what other hitter should he really have gone after? Bregman?? He has been a bust so far with the Cubs. That contract looks really bad. Schwarber was never leaving Philly. What other good hitter was out there? He got Contreras who has been good. Durbin has been terrible but has come to life the last month.

Schwarber would have left if the money was right. Could have traded for a good RHH. It didn’t have to be a FA.
