This is a really interesting pitching matchup. Prielipp has gotten off to a fiery start with the Twins, just as Tolle has with the Sox. Two promising young lefties going against one another.

We are so lost in the ABS arena.  Instead of asking so many vague questions, yielding so many vague answers, I'd love to hear a reporting ask what the RS overall strategy is for challenging strikes.  Start with simple stuff, like, if there are 2 outs, no one on, and an 0-2 count, can a hitter challenge a strike call?  Is there a basic framework?  I haven't seen one.

But just to start with, there is no reason to leave challenges on the table.  If you get to the 8th with two challenges left, challenge if you have at least a 40% chance.  49 games * 2 challenges = 98 opps.  66 challenges - 30 overturns = 36 challenges burned.  That means we left 62 challenges on the table.  That seems almost impossible.

Not worth the effort to figure out, since the challenge system will be gone soon anyway (I'm surprised I don't mind it aas much as I thought), and we'll have a rational system of ABS.
