Story is f bum. It’s beyond me why he plays especially when Mona has earned the spot.

Ranger putting a clinic thus far. Love it!

Last inning when Abreu was on 2nd, he tapped at his helmet several times prior to Cease throwing a pitch; all but one was a breaking ball.

Does Abreu do touch his helmet on base all the time?  Or was he sending a signal to Story?

For the Sox to be competitive the remainder of the season it's gonna have to be with pitching and defense.

I doubt I've ever said that regarding a Sox team.

Not gonna happen. Too little offense.

and I wanted Bregman and Bichette

If it helps, Mayer + Durbin have a combined higher OPS than Bregman + Bichette, at a savings of $80,000,000 per year.

Let's see if this new manager has more balls than Cora.

I just can’t stand Story man, just can’t! He let pass middle-middle meatballs but swings at pitches headed to the dugout. Just DFA his ass!

surprised that the manager is letting Cease pitch this inning

Bad move, imo.  He had lost the zone in the previous inning, and was already close to 100 PC.

Their pen must be taxed, plus their starter tomorrow is likely on a pitch count

If Mayer stays healthy AND corrects some serious mental mistakes, his career could be interesting. The latter are 2 big IFs though.

Think that will be the case at the end of the year ?

FWIW, the Narvaez HR raised his OPS from .575 to .647.  That'll give you some idea of the sample sizes we are dealing with.

Whata performance by Ranger man. Let him go all the way he can finish this easily!
