Huge win in the home opener yesterday. Let's keep the momentum rolling in this direction, yeah?

Yes LF again for Duran. Cora has already come out, and said Duran is not going to be a full time DH.🤔

Yes, we all know that.

I figured he'd DH more than Anthony, or at least I feel he should.

Counting Anthony, today, the tally will be:

3 Duran .539 as DH

3 Anthony .347 as DH

2 Yoshida .375 as DH

May as well pile on Cora's misaligned lineup.  Top 3 batters, no hitters yet, take only 9 pitches to give up 3 outs.

Anthony may not be the best choice at leadoff as he tries, often, to hit the first pitch which by itself is not a bad idea for the batter, but not productive to see an unfamiliar pitcher like Vazquez.    Story is still lost at #2, and may be in that role just to break up the left handed string of Anthony/Duran.  Abreu should be there now but that would be 3 consecutive LH batters.    Duran batting 3rd, probably should go back to leadoff, switching with Anthony, who can then continue his pursuit of Ted William's record from the sacred LF/#3 hitter position

Getting late for Early with 47 pitches through 2 innings.  Making it a bullpen game if he doesn't get a quick 3rd/4th.

However, he escapes a big inning only giving up 1 run and K'ing Tatis.

Interesting AB by Mayer to get the sac fly and tying run.  Tales 2 strikes, one of which was a middle-middle, then hits a 390' flyball when Vazquez fails to exploit the near rookie  by giving him another cookie FB.

Marcello gets the job done.

Productive outs for Durbin and Marcelo lead to a run. Better than striking out and hoping for a double.

Early dodging bullets, may be done after 3 with 80 pitches .  Showing nothing special and may be holding back on a cold day in Fenway

Machado made a nice play on Durbins hard hit grounder to limit a rally opportunity, but Durbin playing well off the line with 2 on could come close to Fermin's ground ball double, allowing the lead run.

Beginning to wonder, Bres

Story paying no attention to advice continues to overpull every swing and can't buy a hit.  Very basic change , Trevor, is needed.  Try going up the middle because you have not got a wall ball in you right now

Suddenly Early saves his arm and has an easy inning getting Tatis for the 3rd time.  Breslow is already talking trade with SD.

Players don’t decide where to position themselves anymore. 100% on the coaching and analytics.

Note to Marcello:  getting rung up on a failed check swing vs a pitch well out of the zone, leaving two on base isn't a great idea

Nothing more useless than a two out triple in front of Story, who at least did not try to pull the ball, so at least his hearing is good

Kid wasn’t sharp but he did limit the damage and gave them a chance.  A loss at this point is on the O (again).

He only went 4 innings. Not great.

Didn’t say he was great, but given the number of runners he allowed, it easily could have been 4-5 runs.  He kept the game close and gave the team a shot.

Sure, he deserved a loss though. The first 3 innings were bad bad.
