True.  I honestly think he could be tired, but I trust Cora's judgment on that.

Freddie Hicks up to his usual routine.

One could say Hicks (and Cora) are playing with fire, but not me.

If Hicks had options, he'd be with WOO.

How long can a team fighting for the playoffs keep a guy they hope might get his act together for next year take up a slot on the 26 and end up pitching in a tied game?

High leverage Hicks. He's never been a called that.

Timely hitting isn't an O's strong point either. The Sox pitching has covered this weakness up; the O's pitching has not during the season.

Who feels comfortable with Hicks on the mound 2-2?  But he has 2 outs in 7th.

I only feel comfortable, when he's in the cubhouse after being pulled and we still have the lead (or remain tied.)

Solo HRs are timely hits?

I do not think Anthony is up there to get walked, but rather looking for a pitch to hit;

I actually root for Bregman every time he comes to bat.  That time he hit the ball hard.

Come on, moon.   Hicks is never boring.

Bregman better start hitting, or Anthony will pass him for the team OPS leader slot.

July 1st:

.938 Bregman

.667 Anthony

August 1st:

.923 Bregman

.830 Anthony

Before today's game:

.900 Bregman (.891, now.)

.857 Anthony (.865, now)

I have no history of heart problems. I want to keep it that way.

Fine with me because I'm sure Bregman will get his stroke back.  They could both end up over .900.  Good to see Ref back in the lineup.  Now Abreu needs to find his way back.  Strained calf????

I'm not worried about Bregman, at all. He may end up over .900 and still be passed by Anthony!

Anthony ain't showy in RF, but he is competent.  Nice grab and throw to keep that to a single.    Earlier he kept a double from becoming a triple.
