So glad Breslow traded the correct Raffy , so we could keep the one that wins ballgames with  his bat and glove/arm.

9 outs to end the run to the A-S break with blazing saddles

I loved Devers as the DH, but I also thought trading him made sense.  Right now the Sox seem to be knee deep in bats, and most of them can play defense too.  Yoshida has yet to make an error.

When you see that chemistry on that mound between Cora and Bello, (my guess on what Cora said to Bello there: “you have earned an stand ovation kid, go out and get it”) nothing can go wrong.

…oh and this is coming from someone who has been very vocal on Cora.

We didn't lose a Raffy; we've gained a Raffy .

Indeed.  His WAR to date is now almost double Devers.

What we are really seeing--that is only tied indirectly to trading Devers--is the blossoming of a really good lineup and a not too shabby rotation.  As moonslav predicted Yoshida/Ref ain't too shabby as the DH.  Plus, with 4 outfielders, now and then one of them can DH--or play 2b.

Wilson gets the last 2 outs in top of 7th!  Sox still up, 4-1.

Agree completely.  I also love to see Bello thanking the defense as they came off the field.  Plus he tipped his hat to the fans.

When all circuits are firing in unison, it’s a beautiful thing to watch.

i know: what a cliche!

But a streak and breakout of young players has been so long in coming, with so many failed bottle rockets along the way and Ownership misdirection that it must be celebrated in a big way .

the next challenge is to avoid the August-September funk that sunk the last 3 Sox seasons.

Oh, and the trade deadline.  Will Breslow be reluctant to break up the core now.    He may need to spend some to get some if starting pitchers wreck knees covering first base.

Unbelievable, but believe it , finish to the A-S break. Best since 2018.    Wonderful to see pitching and key hitting come together.    Just nice to be watching a winner for a change.

The team is playing great, and it a lot of fun to be a fan right now .

i haven’t said that a lot since the unexpected run in 2021.

At least we'll have 4 days off before going to war with the Fantastic Three.

The Fantastic Three might be looking askance at the Emerging One.

Next up, @ the Cubs and the @ the Phillies.  Both are tough at home.  Cubs are good hit, so-so pitch, and the Phillies are the reverse.  Dodgers are also good hit, so-so pitch.

Those 9 games will be an excellent gauge of where this Sox team is--which will no doubt affect Breslow's decision-making.

Sox 1 game behind Yankees.

Chapman has been otherworldly so far this season.

Just catching up; keeping Bregman’s D in the game would be more important at that point.

Plus it’s not like they had speedsters on the bench today: Toro, Narvaez or Refsnyder wouldn’t be anyone’s choice as a pr.

True. But my post was more related to Bregs reinjuring his quad.
