I'm glad the trade improved our pitching and that it was doing better before the trade.

Uh, we don't know that yet.

Man, Breslow is really taking a pile of flak these days for being inexperienced and a bad communicator and so on.

He wasn't ever even an assistant GM before. There were communication questions in the interview process. Maybe he can figure it out and learn from the situation? None of us are there and it's hard to get what's really going on with all the PR spin from all sides. I think we know there's a blame pie and that the people that remain in the organization need to do better going forward. Seems simple enough of a statement.

Maybe we need to rehire the guy who called him a f'ing stiff

honest q: what are the chances that Bres is one and done?

Do we try Ryan Lavarnway next?

Well, it’s his second year, but I get the flavor of what you’re saying.

Breslow may have some job security however.  He was what, the 11th or 12th person they contacted and the first 10 wouldn't even interview.  Nothing has changed from that environment; no one with a track record wants this job right now.

Like how Bonzo once said "Mr Gorbachev, tear down that wall," Craig Breslow MEND THAT FENCE!

The Real Deal? I don't think this board could handle the second coming.

Are we only looking at Yale alums now?    Who’s in-line after Lavarnway? Former Astro GM James Click?  Or are we pigeon-holed into Ron Darling?

I dont think past problems with recruiting are going to save Breslow, personally. Not to imply that I think he's for sure gonezo. Just saying I dont think that will weigh heavily in the decision.

The Sox pitching has been excellent for the last 8 games.  SSS but if that continues, Breslow looks a lot better, doesn't he?

I have no idea if it will continue, but I'll stay hopeful until it doesn't LOL

Could open the door to other ivy-leaguers like Will Venable or Brad Ausmus?

Yes, Yale alums only! That was my joke.  TY for getting it.  Has to be from this list:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Yale_Bulldogs_baseball_players

my faves: Lavarnway, the ghost of George Bush sr, , Ducky pond, Ron Darling, some guy, Howe, who owns a sporting goods store in RI (where I am going to try to get to this weekend), Dick Jauron, and some guy named jumping jack who apparently leapt into the air when pitching in the 1800s. Is that teachable?

Breslow is safe in his job for another 2.5 seasons most likely. Maybe JH gives him another year to show the rest of the league some goodwill that he wants to keep his CBO around before yanking him out his chair.

What if they went in a completely different direction and hired Skip Schumaker of UCSB, the biggest party school? He's currently an advisor to Chris Young in TEX... 👀

Or the home renovation show where they yelled "move that bus"

Wally, we've renovated your home behind the LF wall into a vintage stadium seating movie theatre from 1998, but with a jacuzzi of popcorn butter!

How about opening to anyone with the initials CB?  We could get Chris Bosio or Carlos Baerga!

Or Doug Glanville or Mark DeRosa.

When folks think Ivy League, UPenn is never on their minds.  But those Colonials are Ivy Leaguers!

Reverse, actually.

After retiring, Manny had some cholesterol issues…

Sure, let's start firing the CBOs every 2 years instead of every 4 years. 🙃

Well, it’s not like every 4 years is working out.  Time to change things up.  Or as the saying goes, if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve getting…

My top 5 candidates:

1. Carlos Beltran (should be HOFer, knows Cora!)

2. Charlie Blackmon (very hairy!)

3. Chad Bradford (former Sox, weird throwing angle)

4. Colten Brewer (former Sox, helped us through COVID)

5. Co-CBO's: Clint Barnes and Clint Barmes

A lot of people do NOT like the smell of popcorn butter because of what it smells like.
