Only 40 pitches after 3 innings. Good job by Buehler.

Only 51 pitches after 4 innings. Nice job by Buehler.

I hate walks....

Buehler gives it up. He really does suck.

Meh.  If he gets through the 6th unscathed, it's a quality start.

Nice throw out by Narvaez.

By a mile.  But I also like the way Story puts the tag on.  He's lost range, but not his smarts.

Quality starts are overrated. Giving up 3 runs in 6 innings translates to an ERA of 4.50. Pretty mediocre

6 innings are huge these days, especially on a team that has had to use its bullpen too much.  Before the stats guys showed how vulnerable a starter is his 3d time through a lineup, 6 IP was not that big a deal.  Now it is.

This game must be a disappointment for you with the Sox leading and lousy, rotten, stinking, no good Buehler pitching in the 7th.

Me, I'm just the opposite.  I see some hope glimmering in what has been a tough season.

Now it's 7 IP and 3 runs.  Oh, the heartbreak.

Ok

Buehler doesn’t suck that bad

He's had a tough season, but back in the day he wasn't half bad.  Tonight I thought 95 mph fastball worked for him.  And I'm very impressed with the 7 IP, 97 pitches, 7 K's, and 1 BB.

I didn’t expect this from Buehrle. 7 IP 3 ER? I take this line every day of the week. Even the pitch vs Diaz, it was a good one, you just have to tip your hat and move on like he did.

if somehow Giolito and Buehrle can be more consistent, this team will have a real shot.

Back in the day he was an Ace.

We still aren’t playing October baseball. Again.
So yes. It’s disappointing.

Nice to see Weissert attacking the batters no matter what. Hitting the baseball it’s still a very hard thing to do so as I always say let them earn the base(s)

The 7th and 8th innings were terrific examples of how good Cora is.  He sent Buehler back out to pitch the 7th, and then he pulled Wilson right before he gave the game away.

Defense has been excellent.

3 dingers by Mayer and Anthony are just unreal  Between them they have 18 games of MLB experience, including tonight.  They account for 3 runs in a 4-3 game, with Story getting the other dinger.
