Hendriks is much more likely to lose the job than Jansen.

Only because Hendriks actually has the job and Jansen cannot lose what he doesn’t possess…

Correct on both accounts. Could they even bring Jansen back in a non-closer role?

If they show him the right number dinero-wise I expect he would say sure, and since he seems a fairly confident fellow, he'd probably be thinking he would get the closer job back anyway...

By "could" I mean would it even be feasible. He's a 9th inning only type of pitcher now and has been for some time. Since the start of 2014, he only has pitched 3 innings before the 8th.

I think he could adjust.  He had a few glitches with the pitch clock thing and adjusted to it.  He's an old pro.  And at the moment one still looking for an MLB contract.

Agree 100%. They are waiting on some young guys to make a jump and don't want to get stuck in a long term deal on a guy that is blocking a better player (see Masataka Yoshida). They are still stuck in the Boston Red Sox Market Value system of FA rather than what players are actually getting on the FA market. They've been behind for several years now because they are still trying to play Moneyball when they should be playing Dodgerball or something close to it.

I like having a good farm system but it's not an either or thing it's a both thing. I don't think we'll be worse but we should feel confident about making the playoffs or we risk the psyche of what we have already accomplished. The off-season seemed simple, keep the offense the same, meaning with O'Neill or someone better, and add pitching.

Agreed. I can be both.

In theory, a tight spending team should realize when a window is open, and choose that time to spend more.

I'll ask again, "How soon is now?"
