Just heard some podcast talking to some unknown who was raving about Jh Garcia and how he may end up better than all of our big 3 prospects.

Posted

As we head into the second half of the minor league season, I think several prospects are having a really good year and overall, our minor league system is still fairly deep despite the graduations and pending graduations! I think bres-slow deserves props to his work in this regard!!?!

I'm very happy with the growth of many of our prospects. A is true with every season, some did not impress as much as hoped, bu there is still a half season left.

We will be graduating several of our best prospects, but I think our next class will be fine- maybe not as highly ranked, nationally, but very promising.

I'm super high on the Garcia brothers, as always, but Arias, Bleis and a bunch of pitchers have looked very good.

BTW, soxprospects.com slotted Tibbs 8th and J Bello 45th.

Arias jumped Perales into the #3 slot.

Tolle jumped to #5 and Romero dropped to #10.

I am super impressed at the job the Red Sox have done with Tolle! I saw him at TCU and except for the sneaky delivery with his fastball, I was not that impressed!
when I watched him this past weekend, I hardly recognized him. But still that sneaky fastball delivery remained! His stuff is so much sharper and tighter and he is throwing it for strikes.

You seemed upset, when I ranked Tolle top 5.

Maybe surprised. But putting eyes on a guy gives me a better picture!!!

Houck was lit up like a pinball machine tonight!! Ugly!!!

It's not surprising. He looked really bad last time out. Arm issue?

Last year he could locate that big sweeping pitch on the corners of the plate for strikes!

now that big sweeping pitch ends up over the heart of the plate and gets murdered

The callup to GRE didn't slow Aita down. I kinda lost track of him after the first few weeks of the season.

1.8 bb/9

8.0 k/9

.591 OPS

A little BABIP luck for him lately, but I like that he's throwing strikes.

Harrison could be a nice boost to the team. We could use one, soon!

I think after July 4th they get an extra year of service for holding him down. 🤨

Rivera was amazing at Greenville!!  Really good stuff when he has command and control!!

Rivera was wild tonight 5 walks in 4 innings. Ugly!!!

ehrhard with his 5th tater for Portland. He would be a prospect if he could hit a breaking ball!!!!

GRE had a no hitter going, late, despite Clarke allowing a run on a couple BBs, a SB and WP. GRE won in 10, 2-1

Harrison did not look good: 4 IP, 8H, 4ER, 1BB, 4K. Campbell 1-2 w BB & HBP.

POR looked like the Sox with only 3 hits.

Cespedes had 2 hits in SAl's loss.

Harrison appears to be throwing a splitter or cutter that they are calling a slider!!!
terrible looking pitch!!  I think Harrison needs more work in Worcester

Jh Garcia hit his 9th bomb, tonight and is at .983. Maybe the big 3 was really the big 4.

Campbell went 1-2 w 2BBs in the 4-2 loss. Uberstine was not good.

POR is down 2-1, late. Song let up the runs.

GRE & SAL had rainouts or suspended games.

I'm wondering how close Sox brass thinks Jh Garcia is from the big dance.

He's looking very impressive, of late.

He couldn't be part of the Fab Four while Teel was the drummer.

But The Password hit more home runs than any of them last year. Yes, it was in the minors, but so were all of them -- and he's doing it again this season.

From some eyeballs, Garcia is also at least as good an outfielder as Anthony and Campbell. He is already on the 40-man roster, so when the Sox are officially out of it, there's no reason not to give him a cup of coffee (that's what also-rans do when they have good prospects tearing up the final level before The Show).

Agreed.

He's likely a better defender than Anthony, since he can play CF, well.

He's better than Campbell in the OF, as of now, anyway.

He's a RHB, so that helps, but now that Devers is gone, we need one of our many lefties to step it up, bigtime.
