Pepiot gets the immaculate inning with 9 strikes for 3 K's.    Incredible that Pep had no fear of putting the ball across the plate for these  tough guys.

If he put it on a tee, he may get at least one k each inning.

Houck’s looked pretty good tonight.  Maybe he ought to grab a bat and try hitting.  He couldn’t do much worse than the current lineup.

Not a good idea. Wouldn't want him to injure a shoulder or damage his ribs.

He's not a bum. Btw, I may have asked you this before, but have you ever played baseball? It doesn't appear so.

He’s a DH only. Almost as useless in the field as Rafaela is with a bat in his hands.

If that's 'immaculate,' what is 3 outs on 3 pitches called?

Not sure if we can backcheck on the revised site but I think we both called the 78-84 Threepeat back in late March.

Now I'm concerned about the 78

Story smacking the bat as Pepiot thought he could get away with a few more cookies.  Actually good to see that Colorado-like power .  Would have been a wallball at Fenway.

Please get Devers out of the lineup! I wonder how management would feel if he screwed up his shoulder putting him out for some or all of next year. Really stupid decision leaving him in there.

Story busted his ass to get back this year and he returned to a train wreck. Kudos to him for making the effort though.

Good move by Cora. No reason to extend Houck in this lost season.

Actually, there's no reason to have Houck pitch anymore this season. Why risk injuring the SOX best pitcher?

Cora said no further damage can happen from playing, it’s just pain tolerance.

As the saying goes, “famous last words”.

Abreu , like Devers, cannot hit a center cut FB due to the  undercutting loop in his swing.  This guy has no concept with 2 men on base in a 1-1 game.     Probably a weak mind in an adult body

Not unusual in professional sports.

I admire the hardcore Red Sox fans for watching these awful games since the AS break. The offense blows just as much as the bulllpen. Thankfully I am working,  and only following the games on my phone, which lessens the pain.

We’re the diehard of the diehards. Even Middlebrooks who just last night said winning the game was “critical” has finally given up.
I’d say it’s critical that we lose this game and as many of our remaining debacles as possible.

Hold on folks.... here comes the BP blowup that will sink this game into the deepening abyss

Houck hasn't had a win since the middle of July. He gives up 1 run in five tonight and again will not get a win.

I disagree. The SOX have to win 3 more games.
