thank God this Chafin BUM came into the game. Guy is just pathetic and should be DFA'D before the game even ends

The problem with that is the Sox would claim him!

The inability of many Sox players to fail on hitting fastballs over the plate has been noticeable this season. They can foul them off before chasing the sweeper out of the zone, but cannot hit theFB well.

That should be bread and butter for most MLB'ers.

As recently as a week ago, when we were still 2/3 of the way through the season, the Sox were ranked 4th in runs scored and 2d in team OPS.

I do not think the Sox hitting is broken or derelict. Just a tad disappointed tonight.

Kawabunga, Uncle Bob, Bello now has a quality start tonight. And he wasn't half bad his last time out.

And thanks to 7 BB's and 3 hits, the Sox have scored 3 gigantic runs.

If the Sox win this one, I vote for putting a statue of mvp 78 on Boston Commons.

The best hitter in this game is Seagar. The best hitter in the KC series was Witt, Jr. Both SS's. I don't know how the SOX star SS would perform because he hardly ever plays. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Devers looking like crap at the plate lately, hitting .192 in his last 7 games with 1 RBI

Devers is hurt but trying to carry the team which he can NOT. He is not Papi II. Take him for what he is and at least he is on the field playing

I expect Horn will return to WOO on the same bus that delivered him to Boston.

I would have not even turned off the engine. Cora has , once again, been dealt a losing hand in the pitching ranks. That was almost too predictable.

He doesn't swing like he's hurt, but, then, I'm not a medical doctor, although I did watch Marcus Welby, M.D. a lot when I was much younger.

In the case of Horn, it's the 2nd time Cora was dealt that Joker this season.

Refsnyder has no more ability to hit than some of the rookies. Never should have expected him to be the FT player he is now

In the case of Paxton, I believe most of us didn't feel he would finish the season, but I doubt any one thought it would be this soon.

I sure hope Matthew Lugo doesn't turn out to be good because he went in the Paxton trade. Paxton is done at this point.
