Coming from a Bloom guy the laugh turned up on you. I shouted from the time Bloom was hired until the day he was fired. That’s very well established from anyone in hearing distance. Very well established.

Of course it doesn’t look like Bloom was fired for any of the reasons you said, and instead was turned into ownership’s scapegoat. That the system has prevailed (and even slowed down a like) under Breslow has exposed this.

So you were just bias against someone who has a different viewpoint than you. Probably not the bragging point you think it is…

On your “Big corner,” I’m sure.

Not sure what theory to match your narrative means but I know better than to ask for clarification.

20 people at PF can verify what I did, meant, and said concerning not watching BB. On the other hand you’ve been pretty much wrong from early on when you said I hated Cora, and you’ve just kept being wrong ever since.

If things don’t improve by March 28th I’ll agree with you on Bloom, and the current state of affairs.

While you keep calling foul, or sham in your case what did you want the Red Sox to have done up to this point that they haven’t done?

I expected nothing this winter and have gotten just that.

I’ve made countless suggestions on what I felt we should do, but again it’s not a prediction.

In short, spend up to the tax line or even second tax line.

Sign Monty, ERod or Gray (I realise all are gambles and slight overpays)

Sign a second SP or trade for one. Pitchers like Stroman, Imanaga or Luzardo. (Again, not predicting all will succeed)

Trade for a 2Bman like Polanco, Kim or Drury.

Add a bid RH bat (2B or RF)

IMO, adding 3-4 quality players is better than 5-7 decent players or stabs in the dark.

So you lied when you said it was because “baseball was watered down.”

Ask those 20 if you said that was the reason.

Better yet, take a poll! Lol

But notin, you once claimed JT was signed for the bench, so nothing you say means anything on the Big Corner,

Oh yeah.

I mean I hoped to re-arrange the defense but then suggested it only worked if Turner was signed to be a $12mill utility player. Which, given that he played 58 games at 3 different positions, is arguable that he was to some extent. But why not cling to that and destroy all context?

There is still a chance Breslow can build a team that can contend, but the FA aspect is drying up fast.

Trades involve giving up near equal value to fill a need. They are useful, but often involve robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I’m all for making a big prospect trade, or even two, if the players we get are under team control for several years. Those players cost a lot in return.

Non QO free agents cot nothing but budget space.

At this point, most of us seem to have much lower expectations. I’m sure many feel that even signing Monty and Stroman are not enough, so what is left but trades?

IMO, if the truthful aim is to be competitive, we should not trade top prospects unless…

We are fairly certain we will compete in24

We get a player(s) who will still be here I. 3 or more years.

If it’s not both, we should just punt.

Context is not something Red even wants to know about. Like us lie about me wanting us to play NYY and TOR, because I felt we’d “destroy them.” My point was that playing the teams you needed to pass was good, since you do not have to rely on the other teams to lose to someone else. We win, we’re in. It was not a prediction, except in Red’s head.

Talk about a sham. You said you couldn’t wait to play the Jays, and Yankees again not to pass them, but to beat up on them again like they were doing earlier in the season. Of course that was when you were on your 87 win prediction kick. Whoops! Wrong again! 87 wins to you is not a prediction just like you saying you weren’t a Bloom guy. Wrong, and wrong again.

So you’re deriding a fan for being enthusiastic about his team? Why not deride devout religious people about their beliefs too?

Even ERod and Stroman would have given us some hope.

You didn’t want ERod after 2021, and now you want him. As Artie would say. Very I n t e r e s t I n g.

Graver to SEA for $24M/2.

He might be more of a DH/ back up catcher type, but he’s a good hitter.

I had him to Boston in the MLBTR free agent contest.

Of course, I thought Boston would sign people back then…

I did think we might beat them but I never said we would. My pint was about the best way to passing someone is to play them.

I added, if we can’t or do t beat them, then we don’t deserve to go.

Not deriding at all for your heel tag team partner. Just saying he was wrong for what he wished for, and instead of easy pickings the Red Sox got the boot.

87, or BUST. We know how that turned out. You Got Busted.

You absolutely were ridiculing him. You do realize these posts stay up, right? And people can go back and read them again and again? It sort of ruins your “it wasn’t me” attempt at defense…

I wanted better pitchers than ERod after 21. I certainly liked him more than Richards and then Kluber.

I’d have preferred Yamo, Monty, Gray and maybe Snell to ERod, this winter, but now that just Monty is left, I look back and can say I’d have taken ERod at what he got in todays market. It’s not hypocritical.

By the way, did you or did you not say you stopped watching baseball because it was watered down and now change your excuse?

Try answering just once in your life without diverting to do something I got wrong.

Just once I. Had history of Talksox just answer the actual question.

The important thing here is Old Red is absolutely NOT ridiculing a fan for being excited. Not at all. Certainly not in unaltered text immortalized in my post bubble quote. Nothing to see here. Just innocent banter from a grown man who hates enthusiasm…

You only have uo look back to today.

He’s mentioned me thinking we’d win 87 games st least twice, like it’s a horrible thing.

I admit I was wrong. I’ve admitted it many times, but he keeps bringing it up. Somehow he thinks the context he says it in is not deriding.

Oh no saying someone is wrong when they are wrong is ridiculing him like no one does that on here. He can’t even admit he was calling for easy pickings.

Saying it 50 times is ridicule.

Of course, you change the meanings of words as you wish.

Like you don’t, or haven’t ridiculed anyone on here. Once again be realistic. There was nothing, or no point to me last season that said the Red Sox would win 87 games, but I guess what’s realistic to me is different than what realistic to you. Like I said I’m not one who is whining, and crying this offseason, and all down in the dumps like many seem to be.

Do you are now saying it was okay for me to have faith in my team to win 87 games, but I was just simply wrong.

lol

Your vitriol towards that position is well documented.

Calling someone’s prediction wrong is fine. Repeatedly typing it and calling it a sham crosses the line. Doing it over multiple posts is well into ridiculing.

And not even ridiculing beliefs. Ridiculing someone for their allegedly unwarranted faith in Brad Keller is one thing. (And I admit it’s weak, but I think the Red is something there.) Ridiculing a Red Sox fan for getting excited about his team is a like taunting Catholics for going to church…
