There's 5 innings from Bello. Could come back for the 6th at 91 pitches, but a 10 pitch AB made it edgy

Agree. That said, there can't be much doubt that Bello is far and away this team's best starter, and everyone else is way behind him.

Yankees being no hit going to bottom 9 but it's a 0-0 score. Burns ( brewers) pitches an 8 inning N-H but gets pulled for the closer in 9th, trying to hold the 0-0 score. Yankees no-hit for 9 as Judge Ks. Brewers need to win this in 10th Edited by vegasbob

Bello's W-L record is more over .500 than the team's record. Finally developed a pitcher who has a positive, controlled future.

Neither team could score in the 10th, Yankees still being no-hit

Casas delivers big time with a 3 run jack

A big positive from the 2023 season, Casas is the big hitting clean up hitter for the next 5 years at least.

Pretty much--he and Devers. With those two on the corners and Story and Reyes/Urias up the middle, a good hitting infield whose fielding is OK. Plus guys coming up.

And he came up through the Sox system. Flawed though it no doubt is, it's better than buying starters on the open market.

Maybe. Reyes is a career .260 hitter. Story and Urias are right now hitting .183. Doesn't sound like a good hitting middle infield to me. Even Story's stellar defense can't make up for this.

More rain, could be a long night to finish up a Sox win. Brew crew up 3-1 in bottom 12 in NY. Wear out the Yankees. Of course Stanton hits a 2 run HR to tie it up. Good , keep pitching and burn the NY BP Edited by vegasbob

You want to think Story will revert to his mean , but Urias and Reyes are only answers to the question---Who is your bench infielder in 2024?

How many times do batters keep repeating what they've done over the last 2 weeks or 2 months, over and over?

Why do so many fans keep thinking that is precisely what will happen, despite being proven wrong as much as being proven right?

(Rhetorical questions: no answers needed.)

Story had an ,863 OPS with COL and .823 his last 2 years there. I'm not expecting those numbers, but if he can give us .775-.800, I'd be happy. .750 with that D would be fine, too, as long as he plays 145+ games.

I like Urias and Reyes as our 2Bmen and infield utility back-ups. EValdee provides some minor league depth at 2B, but his D limits his value, severely. Rafaela could be our emergency back-up MI'er.

DHam, Yorke and Mayer offer some depth from the farm, but some may not be ready for the bigs to start 2024.

I'm thinking we try to bring Chang back on a minor league deal.

Winck and Whitlock both had a combined good 3 innings without any trouble.

Too bad the Yankees won their 10 inning no-hit game, although in the 13th

I'm blithely assuming the good-hitting Story (lifetime OPS .839) will emerge. But you're right about Reyes/Urias.
