The Red Sox have scored 10 runs in their last 7 games including this one.

The offence stinks

It's bad, but not that bad. Try 14 runs: 4 + 0 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1.

I’ll be surprised if they are not sellers. Wonder what is the plan/project of Bloom. I don’t see any!

Bloom should not be part of any plan. He should be fired. He is clearly out of his league in a big market.

How low have they sunk?

3 pages and 36 posts (as of this one) in a loss. During most losses, a couple of the more negative types can total that all by themselves.

Sox are 15th in payroll. I think the point was to not be a big market…

There’s really not much positive -if anything-to write here. I knew they would suck but they have redefined the word. Bloom and most of this “team” needs to go. And the fans need to stop showing up at the park. That’s the only language Henry knows.

Like I've posted before, there must be buyers for a team to be a seller. P.T. Barnum once said if someone nailed two pieces of wood together, someone else would buy it. Fortunately for the SOX FO this is still true.

Well now that the Sox are under 500 again, this is probably where they will no go on another 6-8 game win streak to give us hope again

Give me hope once, shame on you. Give me hope twice, shame on me.

But at the same time charge fans 'big market' ticket prices. Scam. P.T. Barnum once said there's a sucker born every minute.

So you think Henry is trying to lower the team's market value?

Players with speed like Duran and Hamilton should be proficient in sliding feet first. The coaching could be at fault for not stressing the positives of sliding feet first when stealing a base.

trhere is no fundamental baseball with this team and this is completely on the manager and his coaches, they are lousy and not going to get better

I don't think lowering the payroll would lower the teams market value.

The post I replied to suggested Henry didn't want to operate like a big market team any more. I think that would ultimately lead to a lower market value.

No.

Do you think he isn’t trying to lower the team’s operating costs?

Why?

Is their market value based on team payroll?

Since we don't have access to the books, we cannot know how the teams are doing financially. But if ownership can sell the team for 5 billion, we can assume that it is making very good profits.

For those who believe the only way things will change is if fans stop going to the games, let me put it this way. If this current team can not empty Fenway, then nothing will.

Well we should see attendances numbers pretty soon in July. Interesting to see.

It's not based on it but there's obviously a big correlation between the two.

Would the Yankees be the Yankees if their payroll was the same as the Rays? Would their fans accept that?

So the Mets and Padres have just blown up their market values?

Why not answer my question about the Yankees?

Because you’re trying to make one instance a sweeping generalization.

I noticed you didn’t answer about the Padres/Mets…
