Now it’s a tough decision. Do we let a Houck face middle of Phillies order a third time?

LOL no.

Meh? You're just still bitter that Betts is gone. You've gotta get over it.

I mean I agree with Max, Verdugo is nothing special as a fielder, especially when compared to Mookie who is a generational fielder. But he’s overall a very very good player

Meh. His DWAR to date is 0.0.

That said, I really like him in RF, much more than in LF where the Sox had him until last season.

DRS 0, OAA 1

Eye test: he’s been good enough. I’ve seen far worse. I was expecting far worse. Gold Glove? Nah. That’s JBJ/Victorino/Dewey, not Dugo.

The only issue is it sounds like the pen is short handed. Are Brasier and Ort really better options? Lol

Ort was optioned?

I don't believe anyone said he's a better fielder than Betts, but he's still a damn good RF. He's better than a 'meh.'

Walker has been in MLB for 10 years and is just 30. Last season he was pretty good for the Mets. Other seasons, not so much.

Today he has not been lucky. Just good.

Walker is pitching a heckuva game.

Dude has bounce a lot with different teams. Idk why this guy hasn’t deliver these type of performances.

I don't like Bryce Harper and think he's vastly overpaid as a DH. But that sucker sure can hit. I'm not that impressed with his recovery (140 days?) from tommy john, but very impressed that he's been hitting well in the short time he's been back.

He is an outstanding player and despite his unwarranted reputation, a good guy. I would love him in Boston

So overall, Houck turns in a good performance through 5 2/3rds , holding Phillies to 2 runs. Bleier needs to get Schwarber and then Sox can hit Walker

You must have heard about blind squirrels.

That ain't no blind squirrel on the mound today. Like I said, he started 29 games for the Mets last season and did pretty well.

And today it's obvious he is throwing a good assortment of pitches.
