And what makes it harder to watch is knowing that Bloom didn’t think he needed a plan B for 1B.

I don't think they can go much further than mid-May if Casas cannot start being productive. He may just need to go to WooSox to relearn hitting. Bloom should be well along shopping for a LH hitting 1Bman to alternate with Turner.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with how well he looks now compared to the first 15 games. I take back everything bad I said about him.

Casas does have some serious issues that he needs to cure. Constant 3-2 counts, foul off a couple then take strike 3 on a borderline pitch. It's one thing to have a sharp batter's eye and the patience to wait for your pitch but at 2 strikes he needs to be swinging, even it just runs off 10 fouls.

But they sure said he's an idiot at 2b. One more time: that was a tough play at 2b on a ball hit into the LF corner at Fenway. It was not a routine tag.

 

Also, as much as I dislike like Casas, I do like it when he gets yet another BB.

The play at second could not have been more routine, Valdez could have taken a nap after catching the throw-in. If the Sox lose, it's on Enmanuel
