The only good thing I can think of is that one more game gets us a day closer to Ohtani, and, even more important, a day closer to 4/20, the celebration of which is probably the only antidote to this dismal season.

(Six guys in the line-up hitting under .200. The other aspects--pitching, defense, baserunning--are unfortunately worse.)

Dear Mr. Bloom, you have been a major participant in giving Mr. Cora a roster that currently features a lineup with 5 men sporting a BA in the >100s and also Mr Chang who still is a perfect ZERO. How do you plead ??

At this point I think I would rather see Story swing with one arm than let Arroyo hit

If I were an opposing scout, just saying, taking notes on Tristan Casas I would go as follows:

1. Always takes first pitch, so pump a center cut at medium speed.

2. Get him to swing and miss chasing a low outside medium FB

3. Put a decent heater on the outer edge of the zone so he will foul it back

4. Work the count to 3-2 , then f*** him with a pitch on the inner edge for called strike 3. He is looking for a walk. No aggression, nor ability to smack heat

Any LH can beat the SOX. It's vastly unfair to have a good LH pitching against them.

Seeing an how this game is on Apple, is it appropriate to post that the SOX offense is rotten to the core?

You may now spit your seeds, Splendid

Ironic tha Houck's 2 walks are Ohtani and Trout. Just trying to keep the ball in the yard. Not a bad idea, but watch out for Renfroe

Got one back with a K on Ohtani in the 3rd on a sinker.

Not guilty, but I will accept a plea bargain.

Houck's 62 pitch count after 3 would indicate another bullpen session no later than the start of the 6th. Maybe the batters can get a couple runs to make it interesting.

Speaking of walks, there's really no valid reason that the opposing managers shouldn't IW Devers every time he bats.

It used to be that no opponent wanted to pitch a LHer against any Sox lineup in Fenway. See Whitey Ford of NYY.

Chang is still only 0-14, a mere fraction of Kike's 0-20++ , but does sport an 0.71 OBP , giving him and OPS of 0.71. Nice work, Chaim

Dugo meanwhile is contributing nicely with his bat and helping the leadoff position OBP. I truly hope Alex makes a big year of it for himself and the Sox.

Rally Snuffer Refsnyder. Maybe if the first 2 stiffs had stolen a hit on a bunt, something good could have happened

This notion that you can’t bury yourself early is nonsense. This is already 3 games under 500. Could be 4 after tonight.

You may not be able to win the pennant in April, but you can sure set the stage for losing it . Realistically this team could look far different in June/July with Story and Duvall back, maybe Paxton, Bello etc on the mound. Wishful thinking

I did predict he would have a very good season. Since he's been a SOX, he really hasn't had a bad offensive season.

Thank god the bruins and celtics will start their playoff runs now. This is unwatchable.

What the BRUINS accomplished during the regular season (65-12-5) may never be done again, especially because of a solid NHL salary cap.

Does anyone recall what Kenley Jansen actually looks like on a mound. I know he has been in 3 of 13 games so far, and tonight doesn't look good yet either for a save. Maybe we are saving him for that desperate 10 games out of WC 3 run in August/Sept.
