Yeah, looks like Brasier's now found his role!

And as for shortstop, how come that wasn't a problem last year?

I didn’t see the game today, but looking at the box score it looks like a few guys did some raking, and Houck pitched decent.

SOX to do list:

Find a good defensive SS; put Kike back in CF; make Duvall full-time DH; Platoon Turner & Casas at 1st base.

There, all fixed.

Kike is just not fielding he is not hitting either, so if he’s not at SS I don’t see him playing much at all.

Unfortunately, Bloom paid him 10 mil this season, so I doubt he's not going to play much.

Maybe putting Kike back in CF will improve his offense.

He sucked last year with the bat too, and that was before he was injured. I can’t see any of Duvall, Dugy, Yoshida, or Turner sitting the way things are going at the present.

Why would they be sitting?

One of them would have to sit if Kike went back to the OF as some have suggested.

The only changes caused by inserting Kike in CF would be platooning Turner and Casas at 1st base and making Duvall the DH.

That I get, but like I said at the present Kike is not hitting, and he didn’t hit much last year either, so to me that would have to change before he plays anywhere.

Hope for the best I guess. One thing's for sure; making this move improves the SOX middle defense immensely.

He said light hitting SS, not a no hitting SS.

Good point. But with the SOX pitching an improved defense is really important. 4 outs in an inning is not a good option.

Hey Chang is already here. And his 0 for 5 this year might not be representative of his the rest of the season…

He's 0 for his last 18. Carrying over the end of last year to this year. But defense is important.

Chang is not a good defensive SS.

But is he an upgrade over Kike? And serviceable until a replacement arrives?

Worcester has Goodrum. I’ll take Chang…

I do doubt the Sox make any changes based on a 9th inning error in a 14-5 game.

Most likely they let Kike settle in for a bit and see if the errors slow down. And it really wouldn’t be surprising if they did…

He’s played way less SS than either 1B, 2B or 3B in MLB.

And more SS than Hernandez from 2019-2022…

I doubt any major moves will be made over an 8 game sample size.

While Kike is not doing well, at all, he has company:

16+ ABs

.364 Wong (more ABs than McGuire)

.496 Casas

.519 Arroyo

.579 Kike

.586 Refsnyder

.645 Turner (despite the .378 OBP)

I will say, I did expect better D from Kike, too.

We could sit Casas, who is hitting worse than Kike, right now.

1B Turner

DH Yoshida

LF Duvall

CF Kike
