Second tour of the rotation starts after a weak first round. It will take all 5 guys to give it a second go to see who was simply cold the first time and who can adjust their game. The 2-3 record, and possible Pittsburgh sweep at Fenway looms large over Kluber's shoulder.

Time to win one

Hi everyone

Welcome back to the 2023 version of a hard to fathom Red Sox roster. They may crush it today though. Not Arroyo, Chang and Wong, however.

Posted

Chang, Casas, Arroyo and Wong are batting a cumulative .368, or 1.268 OPS ( 4 guys) .

The get-a-away day B lineup hasn't done much

Sox batters in a hurry to catch that flight to Detroit.

Fast game happening . Hope it ends 1-0 for the Sox to put pressure on Splinter's O/U bet at 1.5 such games for the season

Whoa, more like 1-0 Pittsburgh on a Pesky shot

Oye como bah

Did you mean Blah, as in Red Sox batters ? No real shots hit on a cold day by these check swingers

Finally get a really good effort from our starter Kluber but gets no hitting support and can't be the winner, in the rare event of a Sox comeback. Chang is lost as is Wong at bat. The fearsome foursome , who were hitting a cumulative .368 a couple innings ago are now at .342

1 hit through 5 innings. Can’t make this up.

Gee, they’re falling off of .368? What a shock.

You do know Ted Williams hit .340ish for his career, right? And that none of the fearsome foursome is ever going to confused with Teddy Ballgame?

Schrieber gets all messed up with 2 weak rollers, a possible bad ball track by Yoshida, a bunt for a run, then a walk. Guys you are on the edge of a Pirate sweep because you aren't hitting

Bad luck for Schreiber aside, why take out Kluber? 3 hits, a walk and 1 run (a Pesky Pole shot to boot) through 5 on only 67 pitches. Makes no sense. Edited by illinoisredsox

The SOX have scored a total of 1 run in their last 17 innings. I knew they couldn't continue averaging 8 runs/game, but this is ridiculous.

Should we expect exactly only 4-5 runs, every game?

Wow we are about to be swept at home by the f’ Pirates.

Not to mention they arguably have the worst offense in all baseball.

Geez what happened to this franchise man?

It’s not only who you’re playing but when you play them. Even bad teams have a couple weeks a year where everything goes their way.
