I don't see it that way. We play so many times vs teams ahead of us, that if we win, they lose. We don't have to "hope they lose." We make them lose.

I'm not saying we will make the playoffs, but if we go 7-2 or 8-1 vs TBR and TOR, we'll be in, as long as we do well in the other games, too.

Looks like a 2-4 home stand, which will sink you lower in the standings let alone moving up any.

This season is ovah! It’s been ovah for weeks, maybe months. Cora failed to get his team mentally ready to play in way too many games. Time to start rebuilding. That should have started by trading Bogaerts before the deadline. Obviously Bloom isn’t the guy to rebuild the team; Cora isn’t the guy to manage it; and Henry isn’t the guy to own it either.

Oh good, Braiser is coming in to shut them down. LOL!

Really hoping Sawamura, Brasier and Austin Davis all go after this year, if not sooner…

That is a trio of low end talent, sometimes successful but not predictable enough to count on in tight situations

By this time of the season, these marginal pitchers are worn down and have no mystery left . Hitters wait to pound them.

Me and one of my buddy’s have an agreement that we take 10 shots every time Franchy homers on a Sunday (we hangout in Sunday’s), why does this ******* almost exclusively only homer on sundays?

If this ******* is going to make me deal with this, can the Sox at least win the game?

Shaving his beard hasn't made Davis better. He still sucks.

If we launched the whole pen into the sun with the exception of Houck, Whitlock and Schrieber, I wouldn’t be mad

Sounds like a house cleaning to me.

i would only send them to the moon, so they can be recalled more easily when we need to get below the lux tax next year

Listening to Ob, Mazz, and Eck trying to put lipstick on this pig of a game is a great example of spinning the story to misdirect the facts. Pivetta was not good and Sawamura and Davis behind him making it worse. Oddly enough, Brasier kept the Rays off the board in his inning.

At least the end of this season has helped us know we never want to see Sawamura, Davis and Brasier again.

Moon, I bet 2 of them show up at ST as non-roster invitees ( if not traded ). However, neither of the 2 will make Opening Day. The 3rd will be pitching in Japanese League

That booth has gone down hill since Orsillo left, and without the REM Dog pretty much 2nd, or 3rd rate. kind of like the the team.

Brasier was also absurdly lucky. He is very bad

Rays say screw you, Sox. Our catcher is a better reliever than your bullpen. And we didn't score against a 45mph thrower.

Meh. Eck got tons of good comments on talksox when he announced he's retiring. They particularly admired his candor.

I wasn't listening today (or most games), but do not see how anyone could put a positive spin on this game. There were absolutely no good signs. Pivetta stunk and the bullpen was worse--and that only confirms why the Sox team ERA is 14th of 15 teams in the AL.

The Sox had 13 hits, including a double and 3 dingers, but just 4 runs thanks to 0 for 6 with RISP.

Devers 0 for 5 and left 6 on base.

If he carrying an injury he should go on the IL, he is not helping the team.

And keep the long forgotten Josh Taylor, still technically on this team…

When one looks at the SOX starting staff, the BP as a whole, and the on and (more often) off offense, it's amazing this team is only 4 games under .500 at this point.

Well Wacha at least has been a decent SP overall. Not great but he kept the team from going deeper over the edge. He surprised me. Pivetta is just a #4-5 SP. The rest of the SPs aren’t even ML quality.

IMO we won’t be competitive for around 3 years minimum-and only if we dump Bloom and Cora. Henry selling the team would be a good idea too. He isn’t willing to spend what it takes to win a ring any more.

I believe the explanation for the SOX only being 4 games under .500 is that they've been successful against the AL Central and AL West where the majority of the teams are truly terrible.
