the wink man needs to start showing he belongs in the bigs. He started out okay, but he needs to make some adjustments to the adjustments hitters made on him.

Does he have what it takes?

I hope so.

nope!

It’s embarrassing that they likely will finish last with their payroll. I still feel like they have underachieved somewhat. They could have a better record.

The SOX have finished last since 2012 with large payrolls. 4 times I believe. One should be used to the embarrassment.

Davis had a changeup and simply wouldn't use it until the last batter, who grounded out. Some of that is on Plawecki. DAvis did throw a great changeup for a strike to the previous batter, so of course his next pitch was a freaking fastball right down the middle.

The pitching on this team is just awful

I rather they suck and get a high draft pick but for what? This team hasn’t developed any type of starting pitching in awhile in the minors.

At least we're finding out who not to bring back, next year.

good call

Well I guess that was an easy one. Davis sucks, but again, aside 3-4 arms in the pen, who doesn't?

Good call.

It's like an already written script when these bums enter to the mound.

I remember when Bloom brought him and Robles. I was very critical at the time. Robles is already gone. Would be surprised if Davis made the team next year.

Their highest picks lately, Trey Ball #7 overall is out of baseball and Jay Groome #12 overall was traded to SD for Hosmer. Neither panned out. Baseball draft is a crap shoot.

I certainly hope he doesn't. He sucks.

You can never have too much bad pitching. SOX motto for years.

Am I imagining things, or is Winckowski actually pitching more quickly than last time? I'm a firm believer a pitcher, especially a starter, should not dawdle on the mound. Dawdling only convinces the hitter you're scared of him, usually because it's true.

Isn't winky the one that moonbat brags about as the big return for beni?

I am no expert by a long shot. But I could swear that the big difference between Arroyo before and Arroyo now is that he is flat seeing the ball better. That not only keeps him from swinging at bad pitches (he did swing at the high fast ball), but enables him to make a better swing when the ball is hittable.

Also this. I do not see this team quitting. The pitching stinks of course, but just because they stink and not because they aren't trying.

To remind: Sale barely pitched this year, Eovaldi is back on the IL, Wacha was on it for over a month, as was Hill as was Whitlock (who was a starter). Bello and Seabold have started and are on the IL. Houck has started and is on the IL (after he returned to the bullpen and became the primary closer). And James Tommy John Paxton looks like he won't pitch this season. Sale, it should be noted, recovered from tommy john and pitched last season, but this season he missed 3 months from a rib injury in spring training, followed by a broken finger from a line drive, followed by a broken wrist from a bicycle fall.

Go ahead and call the above excuses, but my not so expert opinion is that they are pretty good excuses.

Winky might be a decent, nothing spectacular BP arm, but that's it.

Excuses nonetheless.

Teams with $200M payrolls should not be in last place and below .500

Tell that to moon.

As Beni just had the go ahead RBI for the Yanks....
