It was a game that we had a reasonable chance of wining. It sad to see mental mistakes that reduced our chances. Getting picked off 2nd with a Yankee pitcher under pressure and then not setting the defense to look for the safety squeeze. The last when the pinch Tommy Pham retreated to first on the evers dribbler and got himself thrown out at second. One was on Bogey, one on Pham and the other on Cora. They individually didn't lose the game but did show a degree of ineptness.

I do think that Devers is in a slump. My take is he may be over swinging now. He needs to make adjustments but hasn't for the last while. Hosmer also has a all or nothing swing. The Yankees won the game by playing smarter.

On the safety squeeze Cora was out-managed by 'Gut Punched' Boone. And, as far as I know, Boone as a manager has never been referred to as a 'genius.'

Mookie hit a bomb tonight. Benintendi scored a game winning run and made a diving catch and Renfroe had a go ahead RBI triple. Imagine if Red Sox had guys like them?

Devers is definitely un a slump. He's literally swinging at everything at full force. If opposing pitchers are smart they will give him nothing to hit and he will keep chasing. He's shown zero patience at the plate at all. Until he does this slump will continue

Well said, and what a bad time to be doing this.

Benintendi has become a Punch and Judy hitter. He has 3 home runs this year and a microscopic ISO of .081. If he was still with the Sox he'd be taking his share of abuse.

It's just who he is. He'll come out of it soon.

Kinda like Dugo's trend.

Don't likes these announcers, but I did hear one of them call it a safety squeeze.

what's the difference what you call it, it worked, I still contend small ball wins ball games in the right spot, filling out line up cards and sitting with your arms folded waiting for big hits is not always working, sometimes you have to manufacture runs, makes no difference this team is going no where anyway

I wonder if resident genius Cora has noticed that McGuire is a better all-around catcher than Plow Boy.

if somebody tells him, unfortunately we are going to be stuck with this same comatose management duo next year

What the hell what was that swing by Hosmer?

he is consistently swinging at the low out of the zone pitches, can't be fooled that much

Boy, you're a real ray of sunshine. (You have plenty of company, of course.)

tell it like it is and accept what you are, conjecture wins nothing, I have seen too much over the years good and bad

I got a gut feeling again.

Arroyo homers and the Sox win.

About as accurate as you "realistic" threads......

Dugo, who will never be accepted by the Betts cult, continues to hit, field and play winning baseball.

He may be hitting and fielding but he ain't doing much winning.....

Thus completes your image on this forum; showing true colors in words and not hue.

I'm pretty sure black, brown, red and yellow aren't his favorite colors. Most likely his favorite colors are white and orange.

I mean I’d still rather have him than Franchy Cordero

My goodness has Wacha pitched a whale of a game tonight. Like Sale, all business, no shaking off of signs or scratching his ass or whatever. Unlike Sale, excellent repertoire and excellent command. Hard to believe this is his first start back.

Some credit has to go to Plawecki for calling a good mix of pitches. On the previous game thread I read a comment McGuire should catch all the games because Plawecki is worthless--I'm exaggerating of course.
