Tonight's game is officially and eminently winnable with ONLY 9 outs to go. But it is a rare chance to see our boys Cordero and Dalbec hitting back to back. First base is a power hitting position and if the player brings a glove along, that's great too. So many on this board called out the needs for 2022. Included among them was an upgrade at first base (either in performance or the player himself), and of course , the bullpen. For 2023, all of us can wash, rinse and repeat in terms of suggestions to Bloomie.

Good move by Cora sticking with Pivetta in the 7th. He is on a roll. It would have been idiotic to take him out because of stats for the third time through the order. He is in a zone tonight. His delivery and release points are perfect and he is commanding his pitches.

I seriously doubt many starters so far this season have had back-to-back 7 inning starts. In fact, Pivetta's pitch count is unbelievably low. I still don't know if Pivetta's a good pitcher or just average, but he's been very impressive of late.
