Duvall has been getting in game reps. He should be back soon. The next guy to go will be Reyes. Bigger decision will be if Story, Duvall and Arroyo are healthy at the same time.

Valdez is hitting a little, but the OBP is below 300 and his defense is horrible. Would they send him back to AAA and get him to work on his defense or a new position? They moved him around a bit last season and I guess they didn't like what they saw elsewhere either.

Keep Reyes at least until Story is back. Have him at shortstop

Bloom’s Boys of Gloom, and Doom after 60 games.

30-30

Last place in the Div.

Only 5 teams ahead of them for the wildcard.

Don’t worry, because I heard the team had a team meeting the other day to try, and get things straightened out. I didn’t hear if Tom Werner was there though to led the Let’s Go Red Sox chant. At any rate on to Cleveland, and then NY. Sounds like an easy road trip.

Kike with your shoes so bright won’t you lead my team tonight? Then all the posters loved him. As they shouted out with glee.

Kike your my hero!

You’ll go down in team history.

"It's gonna be AWESOME...we'll get back to you on WHEN."

"rebuilding for half a decade,” Bloom told the angry crowd. “That’s not acceptable. That’s not acceptable to you guys; that can’t happen in Boston.”

There are an awful lot of empty seats at Fenway lately. Looks like quite a bit fewer fans than the announced attendance. Must be a lot of no-shows. Despite it all, I don't see any shake up coming any time soon. Bloom's and Cora's jobs seem safe for now.

...but in no way, shape or form compared the two directly. This is comparing apples to nuclear bombs.

Is it really?

He’s comparing Betts to Rafaela on one aspect of the game both so similarly. Both players are among the 1,000 (out of over 7,000,000,000) best human beings on the planet at baseball. One guy is top ten. The other is arguably anywhere from 500 to 1,000. (Maybe.) Not exactly sure.

These comebacks are always a poor attempt to discredit a potentially valid point…

And they will remain safe after this season. Still feel this is all henry.

Henry seems to have developed a disconnect with the ballclub. Don't see or hear much from him .

Weather has been a factor. First a lot of rain, then game temps in the 50's and 40's.

NESN ratings are down too, and that has nothing to do with the weather.

I fail to understand why you'd think Henry gives a s*** about the Red Sox on an emotional level. He wants to make money, and to make the most amount of money, he needs to field a good team. That's what businessmen do.

Lots of owners show that they're emotionally invested in their teams. How much Henry is, I can't say. But I think he much prefers posing with the trophy to getting booed at meet-and-greets. I think he's human.

Cord cutting. NESN ratings have gone down year over year over year no matter their standing.

I think he likes the interactions and the back and forth. I don't think he realizes that he comes off poorly. That's why they have put in a middle man (Sammy) and have shuttered Henry off to the owner's suite no longer to be spoken to by Johnny From Burger King again.

I don’t understand it with such a good product on the field, and a parade of Yuckers in the booth.

I said "weather was a factor" but didn't say it was the only factor.

The product on the field isn't so hot, especially defense and pitching. Plus no names.

The ratings were even dropping as they were winning division titles with DD. The glory days of the early 2000's will never come back.

Too much competition for viewer's attention.

With a very large ego. The trophy posing is a good point, but the end goal is to make money, let's not kid ourselves.

I guess the thing to look at might be how much our attendance has dropped as compared to the league as a whole by percentage.

My guess is the numbers are close

And people switching to other means of watching the Sox. And people just not caring about baseball as much anymore. And a whole host of reasons.

Like you said, he has a big ego. I think having a winning team is good for the ego. And it can also be good for the bottom line. I think he wants it all. Just my take.

And yet the salaries keep going up.

Just a note on the Rays:

If the ultimate success of a baseball season is to win the WS, then the Rays have failed since day one.

If building a competitive team year after year to at least achieve an 80% average attendance, then the Rays have failed there also.

The attendance situation can be fixed by relocating to a more baseball friendly environment. The WS situation is a bit more complicated.

There doesn't seem to be much they can do about the attendance.

Relocating a franchise isn't easy, but, as history has shown, it is possible.

One possible location could be Montreal. I also heard that Oakland is considering moving their franchise to Vegas.

Meh. He makes a ton more money in the investment world than as the Sox owner--although he will probably make a bundle when he sells the Sox, if he does.
