Do they pay scribes to enter the numbers, or have they gone roboscribe?

They are inscribed daily by a small crew of marmots who feed off of old paper All Star ballots, cracker jack and Moxie.

Nobody denies clutch examples exists. Some deny it is a skill set or repeatable skill.

I'm sure that clutch examples exist for sure but that really isn't what we are talking about now is it? There are people who exist even outside of baseball if you get my drift here who have an innate ability to perform better in high pressure situations than most. In your world it might not be analytically measurably but in the minds of most oh yeah it does exist.

"In my world." lmao.

I know some players perform better in pressure situations. That's true in "my world", too.

I don't deny it.

My point is that the vast majority who do are also very good in non clutch situations. The rest that "overperform" may be attributed in part to some innate skill that allows them to stay calm under pressure or it may just be plain random luck- like how some batter do better on Tuesdays or Saturdays than others.

I have seen some players called clutch or chokes turn things around, quickly.

No Quisp?

They are contained in a legion of Rawlings Scorebooks held in a vault under Cooperstown.

And guarded by the a small squad of red and blue knights, mostly there to pick up some hours during the off-season at Medieval Times…

You and your extensive comments are just too far beyond me to understand oh wise one. i'll just keep trying to follow along. lmao I was able to figure out what that little clutch of letters means. That must count for something in my world.

Real World Applications for CLUTCH

When you are trying to open a box of cereal that was over-glued and the plastic packaging still rips down the seam: CLUTCH.

When your kids try to open a box of Franken Berry and the plastic is torn straight to the bottom of the bag: CHOKERS.

When you mess around and get a triple double: CLUTCH.

When your teacher preaches class like some kind of jerk: CHOKER.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/10/red-sox-claim-easton-mcgee-from-rays.html

The Red Sox have claimed right-hander Easton McGee off waivers from the Rays, according to Chris Cotillo of MassLive. McGee had been designated for assignment on Monday.

Guy makes his MLB debut on Sunday. Pitches 3 innings against the Astros and gives up 0 runs. Gets DFA'd for his trouble. That's baseball for you.

Maybe Sox just needed an extra arm for tonight?

Most important thing about Easton McGee - he’s from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, a town known by UFO enthusiasts and home of the Little Green Man Days festival…

@TurnerGivens

The Mariners could have possibly found the next Luis Castillo. His name is Phillips Valdez. (Claimed off waivers from the Red Sox in July)

Aside from some size (40 lbs) & velo differences (3 mph on FB/SL), the similarities in mechanics & pitch metrics are promising.

There are some deeply unserious people in this world.

Phillips had some decent numbers for us- better than DHern by a long shot!

Hard disagree.

DHern:

85.1 IP

14.03 K/9

72.4 LOB%

4.31 xFIP

0.0 fWAR

Valdez

86.2 IP

8.10 k/9

64.0 LOB%

4.74 xFIP

-0.1 fWAR

Phillips Valdez, who is a month older than Seattle righthander Luis Castillo, did not earn a mention today in The Athletic's analysis of Seattle's Rule 5 and 40-man roster decisions:
