Sikes is trying to catch Kavadas and binelas for the system lead in walks.

Rafeala continuing to make serious noise and hopefully earn a spot in the top 100 list.

Good to see Wong and Downs heating up. RHern is, too. Maybe we'll get our back-up catcher for 2023 from Wong or RHern.

VSantos pitched 5 shutout innings (3 H, 3BB, 4K). Hamilton had 3 hits in the 2-0 win.

Greenville got a win as Rafaela went 2-4. Binelas had a solo blast (11th).

Maybe Rafeala has not made the top 100 list because of his 26 percent strike out rate.

If he keeps hitting, I would like to see him get a chance at Portland!

He hasn't even cracked soxprospects.com's top 13, but I think that will change their next adjustment.

He's a plus defender and is only 21, so I think he's going to make some lists.

@SoxProspects

Freili Encarnacion went 3-for-4 with two doubles (2), two RBI (2), and a walk in today's 7-5 DSL Red Sox Red victory. The 17-year-old shortstop is #42 on the #SP60.

Rafaela promoted to Portland.

I really like this kid. Defense is his calling card, but he has hit the cover off the ball thus far this season. A lot of people will question if this was rushed because he has less than 200 at bats at Greenville, but I think he needs to be challenged more than he is getting at Greenville.

I think the timing is right, and I leave these choices to management, as it's hard for any of us to know when "ready" is ready.

That being said, I'd like to see...

German and Seabold get a look in the bigs. (Casas when he's healthy, assuming Dalbec and/or Cordero go into a funk) I think Bello is a September call-up or 2024.

I'd like to see Koss and Granberg go to AAA, soon... maybe Murphy and Groome before too long.

Jimenez can take Granberg's slot in AA. Lugo can take Koss's splot. Maybe Binelas to AA before too long. We might want to see if Northcut can hit well at the next level, too.
