Bello with a solid outing for his first AAA start.

6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 10K

Bazardo, Valdez, Kelly and Ort pitched 3 shutout innings (3H 0BB 4K)

Fitzy & Wong w 2 hits.

Groome with a good start, too: 6 IP, 7H, 0ER, 2BB, 1K (strange K:BB ratio)

Castellanos was the one man wrecking ball (2 HRs and all 4 rbis)

Rafaela (.957) & Lugo (.902) with 2 hits in the Greenville loss. With the Jimenez HR, he's now over .800.

Good to see for Bello. I will caution that the opponent is that Scranton is 30th in AAA in team OPS with 652.

Good way to ease him into the next higher level.

Crawford started for Woo and pitched 4 no hit innings (0 BB/ 2 K). Kelly almost blew the game by allowing 2 runs in the 9th, but got the win!

DHern to have knee surgery.

Now, we know why his control has been off.

He was born with bad knees?

Woo won 6-2 as Pannone had a nice start (5IP, 6H, 2ER, 0BB, 5K) and Politi looked good in relief, again. Duran went 1-4, Fitzy 1-3 w a 3B and Wong went 2-4 w a 2B.

POR got swept. Santos let up 4 ER in 5.1 IP. Koss (w 3B) and Sogard went 2-3. Walter looked good, again (7.0 IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 11K)- keeping his K:BB rate off-the-charts! Kos went 2-3 in this one, too.

Greenville lost, again. Yorke, Binelas and Rafaela with 2 hits, each. Jimenez went 1-4 w a 2B.

Salem lost, again. Jordan continued his hot streak, going 3-5 w a 2B. Hickey went 2-4 w an HR.

Northcut with his 15th tater of the season.

Decker with his 3rd tater of the season.

Sanchez with his 6th tater of the season for Worcester.

Wong and Arauz with 3 hits each in a Woo loss. Downs left the game early.

Sea Dogs won 4-0. Spacke went 4, and German, Wallace and others did fine in relief.Granberg got half of the team's 6 hits.

Greenville lost again, in another high scoring game. Lugo went 3-4 and was a HR short of a cycle. McDonough went 2-5, while Binelas went 1-2 w 4 rbi. Northcut continued his HR parade, hitting his 15th.

Salem is up 9-5 in the 8th. Gonzalez went 3 without an ER (3H, 1BB, 6K)

In only 31 hits!

Duran with his 4th tater of the season and refsynder with his 3rd tater of the season.

Not sure why they met winkowski come back out for the 7th inning.

I think the Sox need to consider moving granberg up to Worcester. All this guy does is get on base. Now up over .450 on the season.

Not a power guy, but a tremendous contact hitter who draws a good bit of walks.

That one inning really ruined his numbers for the season, but I guess the minors is where you have to find out just how long a guy can go.

Murphy looked good, again, and has his ERA down to 1.91.

I agree on moving Granberg up to AAA. It's not like we're loaded with OF'er at Woo.

Greenville keeps losing, but they score a lot. Binelas, Lugo and Rafaela had 2 hits each. Binelas with his 10th dinger and Rafaela with his 12th 2B.

Why isn’t Hang’em Chaim investing in pitching early in drafts? There is very little quality starting pitching in Greenville and Salem!

I'm sure he looked long and hard, but how could any GM pass on the best player in the draft, Mayer?

BTW, the Rays were not really all that great at drafting pitchers. They were great at trading for some, and trading away their own pitchers just seconds before they declined steeply.

They haven't done poorly, but they haven't done great, either.

1st & Second Round Pitching Picks since 2008:

24. T Guerrieri '12

42. Jeff Ames '11

52. Blake Snell '11

59. Grayson Garvin '11

29. Ryne Stanek '13

31. Drew Rasmussen '17

16. M LIberatore '18

31. S McClanahan '18

36. JJ Goss '19

40. Seth Johnson '19

24. Nick Bitsko '20

I get picking Mayer and sticking to your draft board and taking yorke. Those were both no brainers.

But what was Hang’em Chaim doing in the second and third rounds of the last two drafts?
