Because he's made some excellent moves, in isolation, and his teams generally make the playoffs. It's possible his analytics people and/or scouts have been letting him down lately, who knows? Do you really think he wouldn't be hired?

It's hard for any GM tp project injuries, but has any GM done worse in that area?

I don't know, but again, the team keeps making the playoffs, injuries or not.

No secret what the Yankees will do . They will spend big on one of the top shortstop free agents. And maybe look for a speedy and athletic outfielder to replace the aging Gardner and the overrated Hicks.

They might just roll the dice on Hicks. Gallo has one more year.

I think they go SS and Pitching.

Hicks is on the books for $40 mill over the next 4 seasons...

Some also say Cashman has compromising material on Hal...

Maybe it's a compromising picture of both of them together?

Posted

And remember Cash had that fatal attraction thing years ago? She was kind of scary-looking, too.

Yes, I think there may be a few skeletons in the closet in Yankeeland...

Welcome to the eliminated club. I don't think there are enough hours to watch all of the Yankees Classics in one offseason.

Now I'm down to hoping against the damn Dodgers. :P :)

I feel that if a team beats you fair and square , you can pull for them to win it all. I would not mind if Houston won the World Series. I do hope they play the Dodgers. To be the best , you have to beat the best.

As a Sox fan, I understand that sentiment . As a baseball fan , I find it abhorrent.

I love baseball, and played it a long time. Maybe it's the 162 game season, but I rarely watch any other baseball games, if the Sox are not one of the teams. That's always been the case, but I usually watch the World Series or elimination games. I just don't feel up to it, this year, and I dislike the Astros too much to want to watch them win.

You don't have to listen to all the Astros crap I hear down here.

Now it's down to hoping against the Astros.

Actually, that's not entirely true. It's not just a matter of pulling against the Astros. I like the Braves.

There's some consolation in joining this club at a later date than the Yankees. :)

I'll be hoping for the Braves as well.

I'm not watching another pitch, this year.

I have heard several people say this.

Personally, I'm looking forward to watching a stress free WS.

You are a bigger person than I. I can't pull for the Astros.

As a fan who’s formative years crossed late 80s into the 90s, I’ve always disliked the Braves. That being said, I’ve never truly despised them like I do the Red Sox and the Astros. I’m all Braves all the time this World Series

Living down here near Houston is awful, now.

You would not believe all the crying these guys do over how badly they have been treated by the fans and media over the cheating scandal, and how they need to prove they can win on talent, alone.

These guys actually feel like they are being wronged.

It's sick.

Everyone wants to feel like they're a victim nowadays. You're right, it's a sick mentality that I'm seeing more and more of (not just in relation to the Astros).

Hope they get swept, but my gut is telling me they'll win in 5.

I hear things like, "The media keeps claiming only a couple players addressed the issue, when many talked at length about it."

Whoop-dee-freakin'- doo!

These guys cheated, and no players got any penalties.

So many Astros players had massive career years, including Marwin.

They could have had their titled stripped from them, and they are crying, "even kids are screaming out horrible things about our players!"

Playing the victim is truly getting way out of hand. You are right.

I imagine that it's pretty bad being a Red Sox fan living in Houston. I do think that the Astros have something to prove. At the same time, it's my opinion that probably every team was stealing signs illegally to some degree or another. The Astros were more blatant with their technique, they got caught, and they were made the example. I don't blame fans of other teams for booing them though.

Unfortunately, I'm getting the same gut feeling. That said, I didn't think the Braves would beat the Dodgers either.

The players never paid a price.

It was not a simple matter, though, because the directives apparently came from the top. Everybody was following orders, Cora included. He made for a convenient sacrificial lamb.

When the Red Sox got penalized, the poor guy who operated the video was the only one suspended. As if it was all his idea or something. What a joke that was.
