I think the real point is that we see talented players making either physical or mental errors and not grinding out AB's , pressuring the other team to commit mistakes. I don't care what the 3expectations were, this is a professiona;l level game played by people making no less than ha;f-a-million a year up to $20+ million. The only object of this MLB level is to win. When the team cannot put it together at critical times, it is on them and it is not being a bad fan of the game to call them on it. Sorry if that disappoints the cheerleaders

 

As usual the Sox swung at anything and everything tonight allowing Pitchers to employ the one trap left to the modern day pitcher, making the hitter swing at a pitch that is actually a ball. 7th and 8th innings were a joke. Middle of the Sox order did better in the 9th but to no avail.

 

Meanwhile they stumble around in the field like drunken sailors.

Probably worth noting - it all fell apart third time through the lineup. Gee, maybe all those managers not trying to squeeze extra innings out of their starters might actually know something…

It’s not like the O’s haven’t knocked the Sox out of the playoffs before. Chicken, and beer anyone?

Cause they test for steroids, now.

 

Not getting into a full on debate on this now but half the league was on steroids including pitchers. Bonds made everyone his bitch for pretty much his entire career. At the plate, in the field and on the bases. A modern day Willie Mays.

It seems to be our M.O.

 

We crush the ball for key outs and they bloop, and swing-bunt and find our weak fielders to scratch runs over and over.

 

I’m not trying to crush our guys or Cora but come on man when’s enough ? This teams strength is the Batting order and it has to be Defense .The pitching has been Meh awhile now so improve the Defense and for God Sake lay down a bunts more often if your scuffling .I love the Redsox we alllllll do here I’m Sick of giving extra at bats away .How the hell do we move forward because we need a spark a change in this area .Cora needs to throw caution to the wind and play our best Defensive infield .I would absolutely move a player over at This point .i have NOT Given up yet .I still think Sale Pivetta Richards in a one game either here or NY I feel great about .Cora must shake up the globe and regroup .

Checking the scores tonight.. looks like the Mariners remembered who they are. No point in making the post season in Seattle.. the streak must continue.

The Sox need a spark, but they are what they are, and at the moment not playing good baseball. The D sucks, but do you think Cora is going to move anyone over at this point?

I’m just saying that the way the Sox are playing that no game is a given even against the minor league O’s.
