All things considered, I thought the Sox played well but Chicago played better, especially in the rubber game.

Once again, I thought Cora managed the impossible well.

Based on how badly the SOX play on the west coast, I'm not foreseeing anything positive in the Seattle series.

But in the words of Yogi Bear "it ain't over till, aw, fug it."

SEA is no push-over, but we have to beat teams like this to think we are good enough to earn a WC berth.

Not that we can't still make it by losing the series, but taking 2 of 3 would give us the inside track.

Still pissed how that game ended. Knowing that the SOX pitchers, at least I hope Cora was awake to know, have given up hits recently on 0-2 counts, might it have been a good idea to have a conference on the mound before Whitlock threw that 0-2 pitch? Just throwing it out there.

Still wondering who is managing the Sox COVID discipline which appears non-existent. Not only are Sox players dropping like COVID flies. The Sox with COVID seem to be coming back almost as if they never left. Coincidence......I think not. Are the Sox players actually sticking to the COVID protocols. As much as we like Cora as a manager would we put it past him to not give a s***? Does it look like he gives a s***?

Problem is, Cora might be losing more in total players as he might be gaining in players not sticking to the protocols if that is what they are doing.

What does "looking like you give a s***" look like.

Sadly, people only care about themselves way too often. Hard to blame Cora for that.

Well lets see, Cora dropped masking on the bench BEFORE the Sox hit the 85% threshold for vaccinations for one thing. Suddenly picked masking on the bench back up when the Sox starting dropping like COVID flies.

You don't think the players would take better care of themselves regarding COVID if Cora and upper Management made it clear that they did give a s***.

I hate to say it but this team is NOT a playoff team. They can't win a series vs a good team. The last time they have won a series vs a good team is way back on July 25th.

Agree completely. This is on Plawecki, whom I regularly defend/tout.

Much to Max's disappointment it wasn't VAZ.

Bogie pinch hit for Plawecki in the 8th; Vaz caught the 8th and 9th.

They are a playoff team, but as of now, don't look like they can win a playoff series.

It's two different things.

Can NYY, SEA or OAK win any series vs good teams, of late?

TOR is the only team looking like winners, but let's see how they look after their next 9 games (6 vs TBR).

Oops. Sorry, Max. VAZ should be DFA'd, ASAP.

Only partially kidding. No excuse giving a batter a lollipop on an 0-2 count.

Stretch run baseball. Tough , hard fought games. Two good teams. Three games that could have gone either way. On to Seattle.

Very true. Three one run games. Our pitching was solid but so was theirs. Our hitters just couldn't come through today and we made a costly error. Had we pulled it out, we would have won the series and still be in the wild card lead. It's not over for us as yet.

I don't believe a catcher ever asks for a belt-high fast-ball or change-up.

They did for Kimbrel- knowing he'd miss and maybe catch a corner.
