Tough call against Raffie, but also deserved. No way, no how was he going to get a hit. He was up there with one thing on his mind--besides that big wad of tobacco in his month--get a free pass.

Missed calls by the ump are deserved?

Gameday says that was ball four and not close. Robot umps now.

I’m forced to watch the White Sox broadcast; like I said, even their announcers are seeing it.

Plawecki needs to be all over this guy on every close pitch.

Good for gameday. Heck, good for roboumps.

What I'm holding out for is the ultimate--robo players. Seriously, I'm tired of all the errors, lousy defense, etc. Plus robo-players won't ask for the big salaries.

Pivetta is getting decent calls. Plus he has been extremely effective and efficient so far.

Lynn is no doubt getting more calls, but he is also pitching well. More than that, it is obvious the Sox lineup is helpless against him. Schwarber looks like a rookie who shouldn't have been called up. Devers the same. And both have the advantage of going lefty vs. righty.

Sox still headed for another 15 K's today, and this time they ain't getting any hits or good contact (except for that deep liner by Dalbec).

This is a pitcher's duel, and I'm very impressed with Pivetta and his catcher.

Pivetta’s getting the ball maybe an inch off the zone. Lynn’s getting them 3 inches.

OTOH I’ve seen no obvious strikes called balls for either guy.

Verdugo K's on a cutter right down the middle. The problem, folks, is not the home plate umpire. It's that pesky Chicago starter.

Illinoisredsox, please note.

No doubt about that. A couple of those Ks have been set up by early strike calls outside the zone though. It forces guys to expand.

They need to try and bunt on this guy, see if he can move.

Would be nice if Pivetta could go 7, but we all remember that he had a no-hitter going when Cora pulled him with 6 2/3 innings gone.

He was a lot closer to 100 pitches that day, wasn’t he?

Great throw, but Iglesias makes it if he actually slides to the base instead to the left of the bag.

Should have just stopped at actually slides. Not sure what that was but slide does not describe it.

Probably.

Whoops, there goes another rubber tree plant, by which I mean Schwarber's 3d K of the day and 6th K of the series. He is also hitless in the series.

I just checked; he threw exactly 100 pitches that night.
