Who is the closer? Taylor? or O?

Got to get to the 9th first.

Since Richards was warming, it probably will be Ottavino. Taylor will come in if Richards creates a mess.

My goodness gracious!!!

Richards pitching the 8th with a 1 run lead. Cora is definitely rolling the dice tonight.

OK!! 1 up, 1 K.

So, does this mean Richards is the next Ottavino and Taylor is the next Barnes?

I'll be honest. I think he has earned this. It was like 1 or 2 games ago when we argued about whether Richards could be "trusted," I think everyone agreed, "not yet."

Well, tonight Cora has decide it is in fact "yet."

And Richards looked great. I hope he pitches the 9th.

I checked JDM's stats. From July 22nd to Aug which was roughly from the AS game on. He had 5 hits, 0 HR and 2 RBI. No exactly robust.

For the month of Aug to date he hit 3 HR and got 13 RBI, but 2 HR and 6 of those RBI came against the Orioles when we blew them out. During August he had 23 strikeouts and 8 walks. For the last 9 games he has no HR or RBI.

Other than a few games he has been in a prolonged slide.

After the AS break in 6 game intervals:

1.050

1.052

.241

1.089

.844

.268 (last 6 games)

I guess it's all about how you divide it all up.

My facts are taken off the day to day game logs. They are what they are.

It's beyond numbers right now. His approach at plate is horrible lately. It's not like he is making good ABs at least. Stats won't tell you that.

Here we go. A 1 run lead . Can they save the game?

It is a miracle we are leading. The only base runner from the top 5 hitters in 20 AB's was a hit by pitch and we still have 4 runs. Now it would be nice to have a functioning closer
